brushing teeth

sorry if this has been discussed to death but...

 how often are you brushing LO's teeth? do you use toothpaste? do they let you?

i'm trying to do it at least once before his bath, i use a tiny bit of regular crest toothpaste (as per dentist advice) and he sometimes lets me but doesn't really like the minty flavour so it's a struggle.

i wasn't really doing it before a week ago when i was at his shots appt and there was a chart there saying i should be doing it twice a day!!! ooops......

    DS LOVES his toothbrush so he brushes as many times a day as he wants...usually if he sees us doing it he wants to.  But at least once a day before bed his teeth (the few he has) get brushed.  We use kids/toddler toothpaste, I think it's fruit flavoured.

    Elisabeth gets her teeth/gums brushed before bed.  We use kids toothpaste.

    before bed.  we use a kid's fruit flavored one.  the crest is ok healthwise, but the minty taste might be a bit overpowering.

    We brush his teeth in the bath each night. I brush his teeth first and then give him the toothbrush to practice. We use a strawberry/banana flavored kids toothpaste... I think its Earth's Best.

    we do this too.. we use the orajel baby toothpaste with Zoey on the front. smells fruity and DD LOVES it. I swear it's her favorite part of the evening!

    We  brush his teeth before bed. He normally lets me get at least a few swipes of the top and bottom before he grabs the toothbrush and takes off. He loves to crawl around with it.  We use the baby toothpaste.

    This. Our pedi recommended a fluoride toothpaste because we don't have fluoridated water and I did not want to do fluoride drops. We get a fruit flavored fluoridated kids toothpaste made by Colgate.

    good to know...our water is the same, no fluoride. i was told to use adult toothpaste because of the fluoride...i didn't realize there was a kids one with it in it as well.

    i'll try that! thanks

    no judgy pants just a warning...my friends kid was running with a toothbrush and put it in his mouth and fell onto it, the thing  punctured his soft pallet and almost hit his brain!

    We brush LOs teeth at least once a day before bed.... sometimes in the morning.  We use Toddler toothpaste.

    I usually brush her teeth when I'm getting her dressed in the a.m. and when I'm getting her dressed for bed. I use a toddler toothbrush and the Gerber Grins and Giggles toothpaste. She used to love brushing her teeth, but she's decided for now that she hates it, so I have to do it quickly to avoid a meltdown.
