Trip to the ER for LO

Talk about a scary night. Just got home from the ER with Chloe (she's fine). Her lips turned blue. She was acting fine - not having trouble breathing or coughing or gasping or anything, but her mouth was blue around her lips (like a 5 o'clock shadow). So, I called the nurse, and they said take her to the ER. All her vitals were good, chest xray was clear, and they have no idea what caused it (still slightly blue - it comes and goes). I'm supposed to follow up with her ped tomorrow.

Whew!  She doesn't need to be scaring me like that (as if I'll sleep at all tonight!)

  • Scary!!! But I'm glad everything they checked came out clear, but that will definitely keep you up all night. GL tomorrow and I hope the pedi figures out why it happened!

  • My son's were like that before too, my husband is a paramedic and checked everything and he was fine.....turns out he was cold!  We had just gotton him out of the tub, dried and put clothes on him when I noticed it. Is it possible your LO could have been cold too?

  • Well, when I called the nurse, they asked if she was cold, but she was toasty warm.  The blue coloring lasted for several hours.  So bizarre!

I posted on fb last night, and I had several friends and family members say that they'd had a similar experience when their kids were little.  So, apparently it's not uncommon.  Sure is enough to freak a mama out though!
