using generic brand of Clomid...

anyone use it? thoughts?

the urologist is going to try my husband on it for 2 months but the price difference in the brand and generic is 200 dollars and obviousally i would prefer the generic esp if its exactly the same thing....

    All generics have the same active ingredients. I always buy generic where available.

  • I used the generic without a problem. I don't know how Clomid affects men & what side effects they may have, but I would suggest him taking it at night unless otherwise directed by the urologist. My side effects were much better when I took it right before bed. GL!

    DH used generic, $25 a month was a lot easier on the checkbook. Why only 2 months?  I don't think that is enough time until another SA to see improvements and I would think that YH should stay on the meds until it is confirmed they work or not.  Will YH have bloodwork for his T?  That will improve quickly, like within a few weeks but an SA would need maybe an additional month.

     I hope that you don't think any of us attack you with questions. I have followed your story and I have so many questions for your uro.  They just seem to be doing things in a different way than the rest of us and I would hate for this uro to waste your time since MFI requires a lot of waiting for the next test or possible treatment.

    I totally don't feel attacked I thoroughly appreciate you guys asking because it confirms my already suspicions that something just isn't right..I don't know any better this is the first time we are going through this but I have felt since the first time seeing this doctor that something isn't right about him...my husband just kept trying to tell me I'm just overreacting and looking into it to much ... the uro said 2 months then do the biopsy but thats not happening....I totally agree with thinking that doesn't sound like long enough.....another member on the board gave me the name to another uro thats highly recommended where i live that i think i am going to try to talk my husband into seeing for a second opinion.

    Start the meds and then go see Aegis' guy. We had success with clomid, went from 12 to 60,000. We banked a few samples just to make sure that we had enough for siblings too.

     Get ready for his mood swings. I found them kind of funny and then DH would get even more mad. We called them "clomid moments".
