Best baby carrier?

Hello

Which baby carrier do you use?

Do you use it for long walks?

Is it comfy for you, does baby seem to like it?

Thanks All

    We have an Ergo.

I have worn DS while shopping on numerous occasions for over an hour at a time. Recently I wore him for an entire day since he was very clingy and we had DD at an indoor play area. He was on me for 3 hrs then for 4 hrs.

It's very comfy for me in both the front carry and back carry. DS loves it and will stay in there for hours, but will definitely let you know when he's had enough.

  • We have a beco gemini. We use it every morning for an hour or so walk, and also I use it when travelling. Its super hot here already so I cant use it in the daytime, but I use to use it around the house when it's early or before the weather changed. We're both comfy but it does squeeze my backfat and make me look awful from behind. This is my fault not the carrier though!

  • We have the Beco Gemini and love it.  I've never gotten tired of carrying her in it and DD likes taking naps in it or just looking around in it.

  • I love my mei tai, but it's too hot to use it here now.  I also have a ring sling which I almost sold, but now that I can carry DD on my hip, I like it much better.  It's linen, so it should be better for hot weather.
  • My favorite is my babyhawk mei tai, My husband's favorite is the Ergo. I also have a ring sling that I love for quick store trips since it is quick and easy and it is not to hot to wear.

When she was smaller I loved my moby but now it pulls on my back to much because of the stretch. I have some woven fabric to make a few wraps sitting on my sewing table but even a quick serge of the edges requires 2 hands and by the time I get home from work DD just wants mommy.

  • Ergo Sport.

I carried LO at a baseball game for four hours in it and didn't hurt at all.  We both love it.

  • We have the Ergo Sport and I love it.  I have worn her for hours while shopping and been totally fine in it.  I mostly take her for walks in the stroller now, but when it was cold I would sometimes walk for over an hour with her in the Ergo and it never hurt my back.

My DD is kind of on the small side though (15 lbs.)

I have the babyhawk oh snap...I like it. It is pretty comfortable and DD likes it. I haven't mastered getting her onto my back myself yet, but it is easy to carry her in front.

I can't even begin to tell you how happy this makes me!!!

We have a ton of carriers. I like them for different purposes.

When I'm at home, I like to use the Moby. The material is soft and t-shirt like so it's really comfortable.  I use it for short trips, like walking the dog.  I've used it once on a long walk, and it ended up pouring rain so it was not a good choice.  I should place a caveat here that many women claim that the moby gets uncomfortable as your baby gets bigger.  My guy is only 17bs right now, so that hasn't been an issue yet.

If I'm out running errands, I use my Babyhawk.  It's ridiculously easy to put on and very comfortable.  I've worn it for long periods of times, like when I'm out shopping, sightseeing, at the zoo, etc.

DH's favorite carrier used to be the Pikkolo.  It's a soft structured carrier like the Ergo, but didn't require the newborn insert, so we used it immediately from the hospital. It also has the front facing option that the ergo doesn't have.  Up until the weather got warmer, DH used this exclusively every time he wore LBB.  He wore it on long walks, shopping, etc.

Now DH's favorite carrier is the Ergo Performance.  It has many of the benefits of the Pikkolo, but is not as warm/has better airflow, so it's great now that the weather is warmer.  He uses it for all the same purposes he used the Pikkolo.

Prior to getting the performance we used the Baby Belle, which has less fabric and therefore was less warm than the Pikkolo.  But it's a crotch dangler, so we prefer to use the Ergo.

For hiking, DH has started using the Kelty.  I haven't been with him when he's used it, but he seems to really like it.

  • We have a Moby that we used for a long time, but now that she is so much bigger, we have a Kelty backpack we use for long walks/hikes etc. LOVE IT. It has tons of pockets and she rides high and has a bit of freedom to move around a bit :)
