1st Trimester

Maybe TMI m/s and diarrhea?

Ok, like in my subject this might be TMI. but lately anytime I get nauseous and actually vomit I also end up getting diarrhea. My mom thinks that's weird and not normal for pregnancy and honestly I've only heard of being constipated. Anyone else having this issue?

My first pregnancy, I was always either constipated (not very often) or had soft stools. I would mention it to your doctor the next time you go, but I think the only thing you need to worry about is staying hydrated.

  • I've been super nauseous all day and diarrhea sometimes as well so I'm guessing it must be normal? When pregnant with DD I threw up but this time haven't---yet.
  • i have never thrown up with my morning sickness, i always go number two. maybe tmi, but its all good...
  • I heard that it can happen to some woman, just stay hydrated and drink juices, not just water, so you are getting some calories down as well. Good Luck & feel better!

  • I go between constipation and diarrhea.  For a few days, I won't be able to go, and then I get diarrhea for a few days.  I think every pregnancy is different.  Clearly this is normal for you in pregnancy - I don't think it's anything to worry about.

  • Ok thanks ladies. It's my first pregnancy so sometimes I'm not sure what to expect and what is "normal." So you ladies help a lot.

  • A small percentage of women develop pregnancy induced IBS (I'm one of those "lucky" few). It is all how your body handles the hormones. With DD I only puked a handful of times but was Sick in other ways all.the.time.  I lost almost 20lbs first tri because of it :(.  It went away about a month after she was born. I'm seeing signs of it returning this time but so far it isn't as bad! Sadly while you can take mess for hyperemesis there isn't anything for the other issue.

  • It's a hormonal thing, I would get diarrhea everytime AF would come around and had it throughout my first pregnancy. It seems to be back for the second pregnancy as well :(

  • Last week I developed the worst m/s Ive had yet (before it was only queasiness..I actually started vomiting a lot last week) and along with it came diarrhea.  I was so concerned about becoming dehydrated.  But thankfully, its all gone this week! Hopefully it wont last long for you.

Me too-I get nauseous in the morning; and end up going to the bathroom-no vomit.

I thought it was a little odd; but glad I'm not the only one!
