Gonna try out a Doppler

Hey ladies- a friend of mine let me borrow her Elite Doppler.  I have no instructions with it.  I was wondering, though I'm sure each one is different, if there are any specific directions I'd need to know.  Someone mentioned K-Y... is that true?!  Anyway, any possible generic instructions would be great! Thanks!

(I know we have 5 heartbeats so will likely not be able to hear distinct beats... I'm sure it will just be a muddled mess, but since we have it, I'd like to at least try.)

TTC since 10/2010; 3 rounds of clomid 2011- BFNs; IUI #1: 6/2012 BFN; IUI #2: 10/2012 BFP, lost our little one around 6 weeks; IUI #3: 3/2012 BFP, Beta #1 13dpo: 464, Beta #2 18dpo: 3,727. U/s #1:5 sacs, 4 heartbeats! U/s 4/26: 5 heartbeats! BabyFruit Ticker

    Any clear gel should work.  I used aloe vera because I figured I could just use the excess as moisturizer.   I googled fetal HB sounds before I tried and knowing exactly what I was listening for really helped.  I also used to find the placenta first and then look for the HB in the beginning.

    I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929

    L&R, just curious, what does the placenta sound like? I found baby by hearing the fast beats and compared it to mine, but I dont know if i located the placenta.

    Thank you for the tip! Tried the aloe- great idea.  I think it's just too busy in there, so wasn't able to hear anything but it was worth a try!  Thanks again

    Best thing I can compare it to is listening to the "sea" in a seashell
