Awful reaction to glucose test!

After 5 minutes of drinking the lovely glucose test sugar substance, my whole face broke out in a red and itchy rash. I was sitting there thinking why am I so hot and my face hurt. Finally looked in the mirror and my whole face was red. I do have a ton of food and drug allergies so after looking at the ingredients, I know why. But still you would think that your doctor would know what is in it before making you take the test if you are allergic to it.

 Now home with a benadryl in me and thinking bed will be looking good soon.

    Oh no! As if it needs to be any worse! I'm glad you are ok and home. Try to sleep it off.

    thanks for the heads up!  I'll have to check that because I'm allergic to alot things too!

    Well I am glad you are ok...despite breaking out in hives. The doc definitely should have known better. Be thankful you can take benadryl because I am allergic to it lol

    When I took it this time around, I sat there wondering why it had to be bright red.  Why do they have to give such an artificial drink?  Couldn't they make it without at least the dyes?

    Sorry you had that experience.  I would definitely speak to the doctor to let him/her know about your reaction.
