Mine is!
She's finally starting to cut her bottles back on her own (Damn pedi basically stressed me out over nothing!). Now she's proud of mastering the sippy so it's all she wants to do all day. She also just discovered the joy that's a straw so she sucks water down at meal time like crazy now.
It is hot here, she's a busy mover and we have a ton of outside time so I have no doubt she is thirsty.
I don't partcularly care..it's only water, she needs a bit less bottle yet anyways and is a fairly decent eater most days...I'm just amazed that she can down 4-5 bottles and 3 sippy cups worth in a day...lol.
Re: Anyone else's LO drinking a ton all of a sudden?
Mine seems to be drinking less overall lately, but I haven't been keeping track so that might just be all in my head.
That's great that Ruby is doing so good with the sippy cups. I'm worried I'll be getting a huge side eye from the Pedi in a few days since I haven't really been doing much to encourage it here.

My Pedi can bite me these days! At our last checkup he pretty much yelled at me because she wasn't doing great with the sippy and was still drinking like 7 bottles a day at 9 months old. He pretty much told me to start cutting her bottles back and stuff her with solids. Then he told me it was pretty ridic. to have a one year old and a bottle.
I was all "how the hell am I supposed to do that?" She's obviously not ready nor am I about to listen to a screaming kid when I know what she needs? She's not big for her age so I have no doubt she really does need a lot of bottle yet. It's also her only comfort item and I'm okay with that at this point.
Then it was like one day she just got it. Started drinking less bottle, fell in love with her sippy and started eating better (some days still aren't great..but you'll have that). Damn Pedi got me all concerned over something she'll gradually do in her own time apparently.
I don't worry about it anymore...she'll do it when she's good and ready. And the Moms I know IRL brought me back to reality with stories of their kids who were 18 months and still needed a bedtime bottle. I don't want a toddler sucking on a bottle obviously..but I'm okay with it a bit past a year.
Pedi told us we could switch to WCM now (yay much cheaper) and we should cut back to 24oz max of milk a day, which is fine.
However, she was AWESOME about the sippy cup. EI has been up my ass about the sippy cup and she basically said, "Stop worrying about it." She told me to offer it, but I really shouldn't even start to worry until 15 months.
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)
