Connecting/clipping 2 strollers?

Sorry for the stroller question, but I was looking to buy another chicco liteway to clip to the one I have rather than buying a double side by side stroller... (I also like the option of separating them and having 2 single strollers...) my tandem stroller is not working out b/c they do not want to be in their carseats, they want to RECLINE in the stroller, and the front seat does not recline far enough for them. They're so high maintenance :)

Anyway, my main questions are, if you clipped strollers together, how did you do it? What product did you use to clip them? Where did you find clips/connectors? Were the strollers still easy to maneuver?

Thanks!

Re: Connecting/clipping 2 strollers?

  • I haven't done it, but I did see someone walking their babies using one. The clip I saw was kinda long/wide. When you clip the strollers together, it ends up being really wide. It wouldn't fit throught the door. That's the only problem I can think of, but I haven't really researched it either. There may be something out there that works great!

  • I've never tried them, but I saw clips for attaching two strollers at BRU.

You can get connectors, but they don't work well.  We did it for traveling in the airport and even though you can clip them together, the front wheels swivel independently and makes it really difficult.  We wound up tying the two center front wheels together with a shoelace, but it was less than ideal.  We used our two single umbrellas a lot when DH and I were both out with DDs, but I don't think attaching two strollers is a good long term option.

I also tried the connectors from BRU and found they didn't work well because the wheel in the center end up swiveling into each other and locking up. I ended up buying a double side by side and it worked out so much better and was smaller than 2 strollers put together. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

  • If you decide to just get another stroller, we have the contours optimum stroller and both seat recline very nicely when facing eachother.  .  My girls love that stroller.  It's a little heavy but they love it so much, I get past the weight.
