What does your typical day usually consist of for LO?
I am trying to figure out other things to do with LO Right now, she doesn't really nap unless we take a ride in the car or I put her in her infant carrier to do errands. Other than hanging in the bouncy seat for an hour or so in the morning while I straighten up kitchen/have coffee/take a shower, I just play with her on my lap or on her changing table (just having her kick her feet and laugh etc). We have an activity mat, but she only sits under it for a few min at a time (I think shes still too young). She seems to get bored easily. I visited a friend today and her baby just slept the WHOLE time except to eat. Was so jealous, but he is only 12 days old. DD never slept all day like that! It's exhausting to not be able to have DD nap - ahh!
Re: What is your day like?
LOve your pictures! So Cute!
My DS is 4 months old in a few days and he has never been much of a napper. He obviously slept a lot when he was just a few weeks old, but most of those naps were taken on my breastfeeding pillow, mid-session. I would annoy DH with requests to get me a drink, something to eat or pass me the phone pretty much all day long.
Keep putting her on her activity mat. We has DS there a lot and would get down on the floor with him and play. He didn't do too much with it at first but then one day he reached his hand up and batted some of the toys. He loved it for the longest time and it was great for his hand-eye cordination. Now, I put him there in the mornings while I have my coffee but he gets bored with it easily. I just transfer over to another "play area" where he rolls around and eats his toys.
You DD will soon fall into a schedule where she will probably nap for a couple of hours a day. My DS still takes his naps in his swing in the living room. Best of luck! Hang in there!
W/in the past month we've started getting into more of a routine. But other than the first month or so, DD doesn't love sleeping (except at night, she sleeps from 8:30ish until 7am, so I am guessing that she just figures she sleeps enough then, why not party all day!)
But lately it's been something like ....
Wake up around 7am. Nurse. Then I pump. Playtime (usually she's on the boppy while I pump/eat breakfast). She goes down for a nap for about 1 hour - in her bassinet still. Wakes up. I hop in the shower while she is sitting in the bouncy seat. After I'm doing showering, I feed her again. By this time it's like 10 or 10:30am.
.... and then the rest of the day is hit or miss. We might be out and about, or whatever, and she sleeps in the car, in my arms, etc. I'm trying to be more conscious about putting her down for naps, rather than in my arms or on the playmat. Mostly b/c she takes longer naps in her bassinet - but I want her to eventually get used to taking all naps there when we are on more of a schedule (but I don't think that will even come until about 5ish months old).
