Anyone not been to the doctor ?

I'm still waiting for Medicaid to process my App but I'm getting nervous since I'm 8 1/2 weeks and have no doctor yet. They're the ones that will call and set up my appointment they say, but they haven't even processed my App yet. Is this normal or should I try to get in with a doctor now? Last time with DS1 we saw a doctor two months into it, so I'm worried to wait much longer

    It's not 100% necessary to schedule an appointment unless you feel like something's wrong.  That being said, my Medicaid card says that it is possible to send a hospital bill to Medicaid and they will decide whether they will pay it or not.  So it is at least possible to make an appointment and, when your app is processed, just send Medicaid the bill.  They might not choose to pay it but if you're that eager to get into a doctor it's always an option.

    I haven't had my first appt. and u/s yet---it's June 5. My doctor likes to wait so there's more to see, and she's out of town for the last half of May.

    I've been to the OB Coordinator but that was just to fill out paperwork, discuss payment for what my insurance doesn't cover, get some info, and a ton of free stuff.  I don't see my OB until almost 11 weeks.  It's pretty normal.

    My first appointment is Thursday at 11 weeks, which is very common.

    Thanks guys. I feel better now. I guess my last doctor just did things different. She's no longer practicing and when I called the new doctor they just said Medicaid will call and set everything up. I guess I'm just getting anxious!

    This is my first appt. too!  I don't know if I'll get an u/s though.  Last time I was pg I only got one at 20-ish week (and it was then they found out I was actually 24 weeks!)
