In my other post below, people referenced washing items that i never thought to wash (like a rock n' play). What should i be washing before the babies are born? (Besides clothes, bedding and towels)
??! People out there are so thorough! I didn't think of washing anything but clothes and linens, really...I mean, you're going to be washing that stuff over and over and over for ever! Of course, now that I think about it, I think I'll definitely wash the carseat covers and anything they're going to spend a lot of time in. Swings, bouncers, etc. What a novel idea - this is why I still hang out on these boards!
The only new things I washed were clothes, linens, towels, etc., and the only other things I washed were material/cloth things that were stored away in the attic (like exersaucer seats, swings, etc,). I wiped down all the metal pieces/bars, etc. too. I didn't wash things that were new like car seats, bouncy seats, etc. Why would you? They are new. Your baby will have clothes on when using these things, so it's not like their skin will be rubbing all over it. I guess I might wash a rock n' play is they are going to be sleeping in it, but I'm not familiar with that product, so I can't really say.
If your baby ends up having a sensitivity to these things, then I would wash them, but other than that, I'd wait til they barf, pee, or poop in them.
Re: What to wash?
After 2 years, Injects, PCOS diagnosis and 2 IUI's, we were blessed with our beautiful twin girls!

What?! Your kids barf on things? Mine would NEVER do that. ;-) They also never pee in their carseats...Or on the couch...Or fling boogers...
