Fri: DW picked me up after work and we went to get ice cream and play at the park. it was much colder than I anticipated and I was freezing by the time we got home! I fell asleep while Ann watched some movie she has seen a million times.
Sat: For the first time in over a week I woke up feeling like Ihad actually slept and rested! I cleaned a bit before Ky got up. She colored/played babies/did stickers while I finished cleaning. We went out for lunch and then to the park. During her nap I mowed the grass and read before taking a short nap myself. After snack she played in the water table. Ann came home long enough to change to go out with some friends. Our friend K and I went to a late dinner with Ky. When we got home I put Ky to bed and K and I did mani/pedis while wathcing a terrible horror movie. Ann came home and brought her friends back with her, she had promised me no one would be over this weekend so needless to say I was pretty mad.
Sun: Ann got up with Ky even though I was already awake. We got ready and went ot her parents' house. Then we met my family for dinner out, it was a disaster and reminded me of why I was glad to move Ky to a private sitter. We picked up our friend C and watched a movie after Ky went to bed.
I woke up terribly congested and with a sore throat today...boo!
Friday we went to the store to let the kids pick out their birthday cakes, do some shopping, and eat dinner. Leanne called our friend en route home and found out that she and her son were having a hard night (he had just gotten his body cast off.) She was trying to give him a bath and couldn't figure it out since he still can't bear weight on either leg, was afraid of sitting up, and she has a weird sized tub. I headed over with one of our low seated reclining beach chairs and hung out with her for awhile while L got the kids to bed.
Saturday - due to the kids excitement, we were up at 5:45. We finally got on the road to Hershey Park around 8:30. The weather was perfect for Hershey and we had a great time. There were a ton of middle school groups, but they weren't hanging out in the kiddie sections so we barely had to wait for any ride. Stayed at the park until 7, went to dinner, and checked into our hotel. Grayson gave me his Mother's day gift early of being a complete snuggle bunny with me at bedtime. Normally, he is attached to L and wants nothing to do with me aside from a quick kiss. It was awesome.
Sunday - Once again, up bright and early. Ate breakfast in the hotel and tried to go swimming, but the pool didn't open until 10. So we headed to Chocolate World to ride the ride and buy some chocolate. Headed home and stopped at Cracker Barrel for lunch and home for naps for everyone except Carter. I headed out to run a few errands and when I got home L was at the field across from our house with the kids and a bunch of 5-7y olds and their parents. We all hung out for awhile while the kids played. It was really nice (our neighborhood isn't the hang out type.) Grilled steaks for dinner, got ready for the day, and thankfully the kids went to bed easily.
Friday we had Mother's day tea at the girls' daycare. We grabbed food on the way home and tried to get the kids right down to bed (which Daisy was not thrilled with). Our friend/neighbor came home to stay with the kids while DW and I went to visit my brother at the hospital.
Saturday I slept in a bit while DW got the kids dressed and fed. Then she and RB went to dance class and I took the other two to the gym so i could get a quick workout in. That didnt go so well...I think the days of me being able to put Daisy in the gym daycare are over for a while. boo. After the gym I met DW in the driveway and switched kids so she could take Sprout to tball while the girls ran some errands with me. Lunch, baths, and rest time. While the kids napped I got myself dolled up. The sitter arrived and DW and I had a great date night out at the casino.
Sunday DW slept in while I got up with the kids. They made cards for Bubby. Then we all went to watch my cousin play soccer for a little while before going to Bubby's house for lunch. The kids had a car nap on the way up to a zoo and park we've never checked out before. We had a great time seeing the animals (Daisy was OBSESSED with these little black baby lambs - she kept calling them "baa baa"'s from baa baa black sheep ). Grabbed dinner at Friendly's and put 3 very tired kids to bed. And Daisy STTN!
It was good, but also sad. We both go back to work this week, so it's a little depressing thinking about that. Especially for Mel, because she hasn't worked since the beginning of August. It's hard enough for me to go back after 10 weeks, I can't imagine going back after 10 months. Also, how are our babies 3 months already? It REALLY is true that the time goes by SO FAST.
Our first mother's day was good. We exchanged gifts, went to church and had a nice lunch. It's not exactly how I imagined it would be, since we didn't see either of our mothers, but not a big deal I guess.

It was a nice weekend. We got a placement call and starting tomorrow we will have an 11 month old. It's a respite placement so she will only be here for 2 weeks. I am really nervous! We had a nice lunch with our Mothers. This vegetarian pulled off butterflied lobster tail and salmon all without gagging :-) Everyone enjoyed themselves and I was so happy to have finally had a holiday in my own home.
Friday night our postpartum doula came (hired her for 2 nights a week for the first month). She suggested I lay down to rest in between feedings, and then let me sleep for 6 hours straight. Heaven...
Saturday morning we had to go back to the hospital to meet with a lactation consultant since the babies were on the borderline of losing too much weight after birth - they each lost about 10%. It was nerve-wracking taking the babies out for the first time, but not as bad as I thought it would be, and fun to push them around in the Double Snap'n'Go The lactation consultant was helpful and told us to up the soy formula supplement we're using right now until Jen is getting more milk, since there was generally not enough pooping going on. (That problem is now solved, ha.) We picked up hamburgers on the way home and I have no idea what we did for the rest of the day - feed the babies, mostly
Sunday we had to go back to the hospital for the postpartum baby/mom wellness check. Happily, everyone is doing very well. Babies still in the safe zone for jaundice, Jen's incision is looking great. My parents brought over a huge meal in the afternoon, which was so nice, and we hung out in the backyard and my mom helped me give the babies a bath. A very nice first Mother's Day
mine went pretty well. I took the day off on Friday for the last of the cabinet installation (well, until a few replacement pieces come in and the countertops are set). Saturday was our 5th wedding anniversary, and we spent the day loading up our new kitchen cabinets, haha! then we went to a baseball game with my SIL, her GF, and a couple of friends, then out to dinner after--which made for a very late bedtime for Monkey, but he was a trooper. yesterday we went and bought all the new floor tile, brought it home an unloaded it (~400 square feet worth of travertine, ugh!), then moved all of the food out of the coat-closet-turned-pantry of old and into the actual pantry in the new space! yay!
Friday- We chilled at home and got dinner from Panera. We were still both pretty drained from fallout from the death of a student where DW works and I sub. We were in bed super early.
Saturday- Super lazy day at home and then dinner and a movie at the dreaded gigantic mall (2brides you know which one I am talking about uggg, I am not going anywhere near that place once the casino opens). We ran into about 15 students and saw the Avengers. I think we may need to start leaving the county for social outings...our students are everywhere.
Sunday- Grocery store and out to dinner with my mom and granny for Mother's Day.
Lazy laid back weekend getting ready for what we knew was going to be a rough week.
We had three BFN in the Fall of 2011. It is back on to some baby making come June. Swim little fellas, SWIM!!!!
We did house stuff. And by house stuff, I mean mostly old house stuff - getting the condo ready for the tenants, who are moving in on Tuesday. J was a peach - he actually helped K take things out of cabinets while I painted. I had to take the day off today because we were not able to finish, and K is there now doing last-minute things with a friend. I can't believe it will be done! Now we can focus on our house. YAY!
Had a good weekend with Zucchini. She brought lots of stuff to show us, and was excited about her new space at our house.
Went swimming at the Y, went to our neighborhood rummage sale (so she could see what our neighborhood has to offer), went out for dinner with my parents, did some crafts
Sunday--my parents & gram, my brother, L's bro and mom came over for Mother's Day. I don't mind the prep, but I think men should volunteer for the clean-up. I would have much rather gone for a family walk to get ice cream than done the dishes
Friday - wonderful spontaneous date night with C. She picked up dinner and met me at my office, then we walked along the lakefront and through Grant Park.
Saturday - woke up at 7:30ish to see C off to her conference. Read for a bit, then drifted back to sleep for a while. Ate lunch, then was off to the eye doctor and Target, which turned out to be a little more epic than I was expecting. Traffic in the city on Saturdays is insane. Came home, did some sewing, talked to C and went to bed.
Sunday - Lazy Sunday. Did some stuff around the house, napped, read. Talked to both my mom and sister for Mother's Day, read some more, sleep.
