XP: Our June bug became a May baby!

We were team green, but our little lady, Leighton, made her debut at 2:57am on May 9th.

Tuesday during the day I was having contractions on & off. They were a bit different than the other BH I had been having, but I figured I was just pretty tired and they'd go away in the evening again. Well, from about 5pm on I was having them every 15 minutes or so. They became more intense and by 1am I was calling my sister to come be with DS & the doctor to head to the hospital. We got to the hospital about 2:25am (worst 25 minute car ride ever!) and when I got there & was checked I was 7cm. They asked if I wanted pain meds, I said yes, but in my head I knew there wouldn't be enough time. Everything happened so fast! DH had to run back downstairs to move our car to a parking spot. He did that at 2:45. By the time he got back in I was at 8.5-9cm & in the L&D room. My water broke and told the nurses and doctor the baby was coming. Sure enough she was born at 2:57am. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around it!

I am doing really well, but little miss is still in the NICU. She was having troubles keeping her blood sugar up, so she did have an IV. However, she got that out yesterday, but today she is still having a tough time getting enough to eat. We are trying to feed her as much by bottle as she'll take, but has a feeding tube in for the rest. She is doing about every-other feeding without needing the tube. She's got to keep learning how to suck & swallow her food together, but we are hoping she continues to do well.
