I've been having some intense BH contractions and a few painful contractions. I had my 39 week appointment today and the dr didn't even want to check me. I was kind of hoping he would only because I live 45 mins away from the hospital and if I'm starting to dilate, I want to know about it. I'm surprised he didn't even want to see if there was progress.

That stinks. I was really hoping to get checked at my appt this past week, too, but she didn't. She did say she would check at my appt. on Tuesday.

I've been checked 3 weeks in a row and usually they just go ahead and do it. Today she asked IF I wanted to be checked. Well, I didn't drive over here just to wait in the waiting room for an hour, get weighed (ugh), get blood pressure and hand in my pee sample! So she checked and I'm the same as last week (2cm, 70% effaced). She said she doesn't expect me to really show any more progress, that since its my first, when I do progress, I'll keep going right into labor. So maybe that's why they didn't check you?

Ive asked to get checked, my office says they will not turn you down if you ask.

With my first I got checked 18 hours before my water broke and was only dilated to a 1 and I had sat at a 1 for two weeks. So what your saying about FTMs not progressing much before labor makes sense.
