NBR: UPS SUCKS A$$

So we went to "complete our registry" last Friday and they didn't have two items so they had to order the for me...no charge to ship since they were on my registry.

Well yesterday one of the items was supposed to be deliered but requires a signature, so we signed the slip and left it on the door.

Today the other item (the travel system) was supposed to be delivered. Well I checked online to track it and they did not leave the first pacakage (they tried to deliver it at 9:00 AM--mind you they have never delivered anything to my house in the almost 5 years we have been her before 2:30---EVER).

Well they did not leave the time checked as to when they would make the next attemps, so I called, and got the BS answer that the loads changes so they can't always let (mind you yesterday and today are the only times the "time" boxes have not been checked).

I got a rude customer service agent, mind you I was pissed that this has happened two days in a row. Then I was told the local office would call me to tell me what time, got a *** who has no idea what customer service is.

Basically I have to call tomorrow mornign to find out what time...normally I would just work from home, but I am supposed to finally have my maternity leave discussion with boss and supervisor, that I would like to attend live.

Seriously where the hell did the 'service' in customer service go. I realize that job sucks, but that is your job. I am paying you to do it...is that really asking all that much?

If I had the choice I would have everything delivered by the US postal service, they do so much better than UPS or Fed Ex.

  • Sorry you're having such a hard time with them.  Is it possible to just call and tell them you'll come pick up the items, so you don't have to worry about the delivery? That's what I end up doing with FedEx.

I agree with you 100%.  I have a job and I can't sign for a freaking package during the day. At least the post office is local, I can stop by if I need to pick something up without much fuss. UPS isn't local, so if I need to pick something up it's a 30 minute drive.  GRRR!  One of my relatives bought me a gift and it was a huge hassle trying to get from UPS.

  • I stopped having mail delivered to our house because everyone gets it wrong! I ship everything to my husband's work, especially after the last offense from UPS.

USPS has given everything to our neighbor across the street even though the addresses are marked in huge numbers on the curb and the house.

FedEx has given everything to the house one street behind ours and I have to call them to check if they have my packages.

And my personal favorite, UPS, who has managed to deliver our packages to everyone else but us, then make me do the leg work. When I checked the website about the last packages missing (three cases of diapers) they said they were delivered to our address. I called UPS and they said I have to contact Amazon first because they have a 'special relationship with shipping'. Huh? How about you call your driver and ask them what the heck they did! Much like FedEx, the left them with the neighbor on a different street. I called the neighbor and he said they had them and would drive them over. I said thanks but no, UPS would be over to pick them back up. It made me a little happier to know the driver had to come back over here and deliver them again.

  • You're paying them for their service? But didn't you just say it was free shipping? I guess you get what you pay for. Not everything can be timed right down to the second. Maybe you should try and be nice to the csr. It will probably get you further 9 times out of 10.

  • Never in my life has UPS (or any other delivery company) given me a delivery time. It's always been "some time between 8am and 6pm".

Anyways.... can you have it delivered to your office? Before I became a SAHM, I had everything delived to my work so I knew there would always be someone there to sign for it.

  • I have problems with usps, ups and fed ex. I just started requesting that if we aren't home to deliver it to the main apt. Office, which makes them sign for the packages. The girls in the office are the ones who told me to do it that way. I haven't had a problem since.....sometimes the ups gets lazy and if the package is light they throw it over our fence onto the patio but only them.
  • Pick it up at the ups station and maybe talk nicer to customer service

  • Its a holiday week and the drivers are slammed making deliveries. They probably can't guarantee the next delivery time.

  • Unfortunately, it is almost impossible for them to give you a delivery time unless the package HAS to be somewhere by a certain time (next day air, etc).  I work at a complex where I sign for pacakages for residents/guest and UPS shows up whenever she gets to the load of packages in the truck.  Her route always depends on how her truck gets loaded by the workers.

Can you have things shipped to your work?  Personally, I would be thankful that they didn't leave higher value items sitting outside of the door without getting a personal signature.  I am sorry though that customer service was rude, it can happen with any company.
