I "work out" every day by going on a walk and try to eat healthy and I've still gained 15-20 lbs. I will also be going to get a blizzard today so there's that.
35 if you count where I was when I finished a marathon in November.
nothing I can do about it. C'est la vie. I am pregnant. It happens.
I love your attitude! I honestly don't like feeling bigger (I think I will when I have a more defined bump in like 3rd tri..) but I feel like if my body is telling me to eat, I'm going to eat!

who cares!?! Eat!
I have almost fainted and gone into full on sweating/shaking/dizzy mode THREE times from low blood sugar...

I gained 50 lbs with my 1st, and I swore I wouldn't do it again. I lost 8 lbs from m/s and continuing to get to my WW goal in 1st tri (doc ok-ed it.) So I hit my goal weight at WW, but since then have put on 20 lbs. I blame the cruise and Easter. But if you go from pre-preg, I'm up 12. I'm counting the 20 though :P

I love this post. I wanted to give the midwife who scolded me at my appointment a nice big F-U...I'm gaining, leave me alone.
This exactly.
I love your attitude dixneuf!
I am a bit overweight to start, but my midwife acted like I am out of control shoving twinkies in my mouth. Oddly (given stereotypes) the OB I see at other appointments doesn't care about my gain.

...and now I will not be able to get the thought of Blizzards out of my head... and I have DQ coupons at home... mmmmm.....
I gained a stupid amount of weight before I got pregnant, and I'm up another 15ish now. My DR isn't concerned so neither am I. WW will take me back with open arms after LO is here.

I am up about 15, but then add on the 10 from my miscarriage and I am right there at the 25 lb range. I eat pretty healthy, walk the dog, and lift weights, my body is gaining weight like it should to grow a baby!

Great attitude
I have had the fainting/ dizzy thing happen too many times as well. I just eat every hour or 2 now and that really helps.

you know, I never considered my miscarriage but that certainly has a lot to do with my weight gain too, esp since I got this BFP the next cycle.
I gained 50+ with my first. I switched midwives because I was sick of their weight harrassment (among other issues), when I knew I was still living a healthy lifestyle and doing all in my power to stay low-risk. It was a good gut decision on many levels. My son was and has been so healthy, and he took the weight off me by breastfeeding. At the start of this 2nd pregnancy, I was 15 lb below where I started the last one, and was certainly eating way more than I used to. I don't know if you intend to breastfeed, but doing so and seeing the results put everything in perspective for me. As long as you're living a healthy lifestyle, your body knows what it needs to grow a little baby and sustain him/her afterward!

I gained 10lbs before I got pregnant because of a foot injury. Now I am up 15lbs and part of me doesn't really care. I am not eating like a pig, maybe it is all in my tits. Either way it is looking like I will be gaining more than I did with DS (30lbs). Putting a fat girl party hat on and pulling out the cake to celebrate the new fluff!
I stepped on the scale this morning for the first time in 3 weeks and was shocked to see i'd gained 6 pounds, that puts me at +14 total. I honestly don't feel any bigger and have been eating pretty healthy so I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles . . .
though I may have done that already (I am 5' 11" so at like 150 I am thin as a rail)
I broke 200 with my last pregnancy and I see no reason why that won't happen again this time. I'm gaining slower this time, BUT I packed on 50 pounds in 20 weeks last time...so I have plenty of time to make it up this time! I'm also 5'11"...and I haven't been 150 in a while.

I'm up about 20 pounds, but of course none of it has gone to my butt yet, so I'm gonna keep eating until I can fill out my pants better!!
I like this plan. All my maternity stuff is baggy in the butt, so in order to look good I need to eat more so I can fill them out better. I'm nourishing the baby and my image.
I put on 50 with DS. 10 of it was in the last week and was water weight though. My skin hurt it was so swollen. Everywhere.
I lost all but 5 over a year and a half, so it wasn't overnight by any means. I did breastfeed for 11 months and I must say that not everyone has the amazing weight loss benefits associated with it. I struggled with finding and keeping a balance on my production and still losing, not maintaining.
I gained 20 back after the car accident, over the course of two and a half years. This time I feel like I have the same attitude about eating as last time and I think I'm indulging just as much, but it hasn't stuck like it did last time. Either way, I kind of don't care. I honestly have way too much to fret about and this just isn't on my list yet. Ask me again at 35 weeks though.

My cousin was talking to me about how she was shocked when she saw 150 on her scale when she was pregnant like I could relate! She is 5'5" and I am 5'9"...a little bit of a difference! I didn't tell her that I started out at 160 and know that I will be hitting 200 before this baby is out!

I definitely gained weight after mine

Seriously. Amen to this, too!
I'm 5'10, and 150lbs is a very healthy weight for women who are that tall and that's where I started this pregnancy at. I actually stepped on the scale at the OB's office and it read 150, the nurse says "I didn't expect you to weigh that much, you're so slender"......really?!?!??!?
My husband is 1.5 inches taller than me and weighs 178...so the reality is there's a good chance by the end of this pregnancy I could weigh almost the same as him!
So is it bad that I have NO IDEA how much I've gained nor do I care?
I started at 135 (5'8") and I have absolutely NO CLUE how much I weigh now. At my last appt @ 14 weeks if there was concern I would hope they would have said something. I didn't get the weight then b/c my DH was being a smart a$$ and stepping on the scale. After that, I was laughing too hard to pay attn.
I do have an appt next Thurs (the big anatomy scan - YAY) so I'll know then.
I eat what I want when I want and GOD BLESS the person that tries to stop me!

I was puking too much in first tri. I try now but you know, working 10 hours a day puts a damper on that. We NYC people do walk everywhere though.
Imma have a party when I break 200lbs
