Not so great U/S *Sigh*

So ya I've had many U/S's due to a low PAP A protein.  All my U/S's before today went good then today they tell me that baby weights 5lb3oz and he dropped from being in the 50% for growth to 10%.  I go for U/S's at a different hospital than where I'm delivering, which is on a Navy base.

So now they are going to contact the Navy hospital to let them know he isn't growing on schedule anymore.  Now instead of going for an appt. once a week it will be 2 times a week to keep an eye on him.  They tried to make me feel better saying he might reach 6lbs...but using the word "might" kinda made it worse.  I'm freaked out that they will want to take him out early  Crying

  • i am so sorry that it didnt go well.. but u are just 3 days away from being full term .. even if he comes early he will be perfectly fine and healthy ... and in the end a healthy happy baby is what we all want... fx for u that u can keep him longer.

  • I had a similar situation happen to me last week.  I was told she was in the 6th percentile and sent to the perinatologist.  He found that she looked great and was actually in the 25th percentile, which is fine.  He said she is small, but I am small as well so he was fine with that.  Sending you good thoughts that everything goes well with your lo and looking on the bright side, your so close to full term I think he would fine.
  • You and baby sound like you're in great hands.  I go for twice weekly appointments, too.  It's nice to have the extra reassurance and know my doctors monitor me and baby closely.  A 6lb baby is pretty close to average, so here's hoping he reaches it.

  • I am so sorry! I hope your LO grows nice and big! It sounds like you are in great hands, though. You are so close to being full term too so I'm sure it will be just fine =)
  • Thanks for all the encouraging words, they really do help.  I'm trying to stay positive....nervous about Thursday though because they will start with the NST's then.
  • My niece was 5lb something oz and born at 36 weeks.  She was perfectly healthy, and plumped up those baby cheeks really fast after being born.  I think you and your baby will be just fine.
