This group is open to anyone who has already gone through donor egg/donor embryo/gestational carrier, is in the process of it, or plans on doing it in the future.

This check-in posted each Tuesday.  If you?d like to be added to this group, please reply to this message, and I?ll make sure to add you for next week.  Welcome to the lurkers!  We know this can be a difficult journey, but we welcome you with open arms.  Let us know if we can answer any questions.

GRADUATES ARE WELCOME AND ENCOURAGED TO POST!

FACEBOOK GROUP: Yellow_Daisy has restarted a PRIVATE Facebook group (meaning no one can see it in your feed, that you are a member, etc.) for the ladies from IF and SAIF who are using/have used donor eggs/embryos or donor sperm.  If you would like to join, please page Yellow_Daisy and ask for an invite to the group.  This might be a nice way to keep in touch in a more private setting and address issues that may arise down the road.

***** If you are a donor or interested in donating, we would be happy to answer questions.  Please start a new post with ?Question for DE ladies? as the title. *****

  • Good luck to everyone cycling or preparing to cycle!

Update-We are currently in the waiting game.  We were originally planning to cycle in July, but have decided to delay because we are uncomfortable with the financials :(. We have decided to apply for a grant with Baby Quest to see if we can get any help with OOP costs.  The deadline for this grant is in July, and we hope to hear something within a couple weeks of the app deadline.  We would probably be much less hesitant financially if the tax credit that Resolve is trying to pass comes to be.  If we get any $ from Baby Quest it has to be used within 3 months, and we'd be cycling fairly quickly.

QOTW-I love wearing shorts and flip flops, having BBQs and more light outside to each and every day.  I also love summer vacation, going on family reunion to Myrtle Beach in less than 5 weeks.  Little worried that there might be too many families with young kids/babies around, but hoping that I'll just be able to choose some more adult activities.

  • Wow - there really are a lot of you cycling!  Wishing you all the best of luck!

Reba - I have been thinking about you and was going to message you on fb to find out if you had started your mock cycle yet.   I hope it goes well and that you're on to the real thing soon!

Status Update: Where are you currently with the DE/DEmbryo/
GC process?  Had another bleeding scare on Friday so my RE brought me in for another u/s & b/w on Saturday.  Everything looks good.  Got to see the HB again, and he said he could see the little torso moving.  OB appointment went well.  She was very excited for me, but a bit worried about the Factor V Leiden Mutation diagnosis.  In addition to my NT scan she scheduled me for a perinatal consult.  She originally scheduled me for genetic counseling (my uncle has Downs), but then remembered we used DE and cancelled that.

I've been trying to support DH's cousin who just had her 1st failed IVF with her OE and was given the DE are your best option speech.  I told her about this check-in and all the things (mostly you ladies) that helped me get to the decision to use DE.  Not sure what she'll decide, but I hope she seeks us out here.

QOTW: What is your favorite thing about summer?  Sunshine, the beach, sitting outside reading a book, fireworks, fireflies, casual clothes, lazy summer days...I could go on and on.  I LOVE summer!

    Good luck to everyone cycling!

Sekura - we did RBA's frozen program.  We had 4 out of 4 fertilize. They were all available for a 5dt, we transferred one, another one made it to the freeze and is still there and the other 2 were not suitable for freezing.  I think 3 out of 5 sounds great. Wishing you lots of luck!

QOTW: Definitely going to the beach but I'm not sure how relaxing it will be with the girls.

  • Thanks. This is the longest two weeks ever.

Favorite thing about summer? If this doesn't work, it's not gray and cold and miserable outside. I can just bake my sadness in the sun! Everything feels easier in the summer.

  • Thought I'd check in since it has been a while.

We had our first growth u/s today (I have to have them ever month now due to having gestational diabetes). Our baby girl is a little chubster and SO cute. She's above the 95th percentile for weight - 3 lbs now!  Apparently it has nothing to do with the diabetes. Just genetics. Everything looks great and she's healthy as can be. She kicks me 129234823 times each day and I love every single kick.

QOTW: What is your favorite thing about summer?

Flip flops, grilling out, not having to worry about driving in the snow in Pittsburgh in winter. This summer will be tough because I'm due Aug 5th and will be huge and hot and sweaty, but it'll all be worth it!

QOTW: What is your favorite thing about summer? Being home (gotta love a teacher's schedule!),  Fourth of July (and accompanying Twilight Zone marathon), swimming, reading in my hammock, and the sun! I love everything about summer.
