Hi ladies,
I'm about 5 weeks away from my EDD now, and excited to be giving birth at a BC! Our MWs are letting us bring food and supplies early on and keep them stashed there so that we wouldn't have to worry about any of that when I'm ready to go in in June.
My question is - can anyone recommend a good natural drink that has a lot of electrolytes, but isn't Vita Coconut water? Unfortunately I just can't handle the taste - neither the plain stuff, nor the flavored ones. I really would prefer something that isn't Gatorade/Powerade, and I am willing to try different brands of coconut water too. Is there anything out there that isn't as strong as the Vita stuff, for example?
TIA!
Re: Good natural drinks for electrolytes?
Recharge- a more natural version of Gatorade.
I think coconut water tastes like sweat. :b

I recently tried One brand coconut water. When chilled I thought it was actually not too bad.
Electrolytes generally amounts to salts and sugars, so I imagine you could mix up your own pretty easily.

That sounds good! Where can you usually find it? And yeah, that's basically what coconut water tastes like to me too - even the flavored stuff! It's a shame too, because I do like coconut otherwise.
I got mine at Whole Foods.
One is my favorite brand of coconut water.
I plan on making several "laborade" recipe blends to have on hand during labor. A Google search will bring up plenty and maybe you'll find a few that sound good to you!
I made a mix of coconut water & orange juice when I was in labor. Don't remember the brand though. Maybe the OJ would mask the coconut taste for you?
There other kinds of "labor-ade" recipes online that I found, but they were more complicated to me.
