First cold

DS was sneezing a lot yesterday and I kept wondering if he was coming down with a cold. Well, he fought sleep all night and started coughing around midnight. Poor little guy. We start daycare in one week so I thought I'd be safe until then. Guess not.  Any tips that helped you survive LOs first cold?

DS has his first fever last night.  We called the pediatrician and gave him ibuprofen and a cool bath and his temperature went down.  This is the first time he hasn't felt well.

The humidifier saved us when DD got sick. We also bought this Graco electric nose sucker that was amazing! She hated the sucky bulb thing because it took so long, and this thing was fast and powerful.

This! When DD was really congested my DH would put the snot sucker in one side and I put saline drops in the other nostril. Kind of like a netty pot.

  • I second the Nose Frida, we love it!
  • Another vote for the Nose Frida.  It's gross but works great.

Humidifier worked great and LOTS of milk! I offered the breast all the time to keep her hydrated and well fed.  Lots of snuggles too. I didn't do any meds.
