OK - anyone with me on this? I love my dog - but seriously, do you have to bark in the middle of DDs nap almost every day? Our neighbor just slammed their garage door and she heard it and started barking. Some days DD can sleep through it (if she's in her room)- but she was sleeping in the dining room in her carseat since we just got home from Starbucks, so it was right next to the dog. So much for some time to myself... Off to get S now.
Re: Want to kill the dog
That sucks majorly.
My cats stampede through the house and wake DS up sometimes. I just take a water bottle after them or run them to the opposite floor of which DS is sleeping. I love them but dang.
My dogs do that all the time... my beagle is going deaf so she just follows the other dogs' lead - if one of them seems interested in something, she starts barking. Unfortunately, you can't get her to stop!
Usually DD can sleep through it but not always...
Oh I hear ya on that one. We have three dogs, one of which is the most hyper french bulldog known to man.
Not only does he bark during naps, but last night it was as I am rocking LO to sleep! I could have screamed!
Added bonus: I'm pretty sure I should buy stock in NUK pacifiers because our dogs have stolen like 10 of them already.
Our pit thinks they're fabulous... he's stolen a couple. Since DD doesn't really use them, I didn't replace them, but it's obnoxious constantly pulling her toys out of his big 'ol mouth!
My old dog we had 2 yrs ago loved to eat my MAM pacifiers! ugh, those things are too expensive to be eaten by a dog. Now we keep losing them because my older kids think they're fun play toys.
LOL to all the posts. Glad to know I'm not alone!
My dog doesn't eat pacifiers - but does believe that any stuffed animal on the floor is a new squeaky toy for her. That's going to be interesting as time goes by.
I believe there will come a time when Sophie gets torn to pieces by one of our dogs. I was squeaking it in A's crib one time and one of the dogs was whining and scratching the crib.
I actually provoke my dogs to bark so Mj gets use to it, especially since he naps in the living room. They are very protective so I figured it's easier for him to get use to it then to try and quiet their barking. Also i want them to bark if they think something is wrong.
Mj has slept through all out barking fits to the point where I thought my shepherd was going to jump through the window to get at someone walking down the street.
