Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Recommend Baby Beach/Pool Necessities

Trying to plan/prepare for our beach vacation.  DS will be 9 months when we go.  The home we are staying in has its own pool, plus we will be a short walk from the beach.  There are a million things I'm sure I could buy to take with us....what are the necessities?!!?!?!?

Baby powder will get sand off easier than anything else.

Umbrella or tent (I prefer the tent idea, gives LO a place to nap, get out of wind if it's windy, etc).

Sunscreen/bug spray (or maybe the bug repellent clip ons?)

My mom swore by taking a small inflatable pool every year - blow it up, fill it with some water, and then LO has a safe place to sit and play, without worrying about how cold the ocean water is or the waves knocking them down.

Also, I would take some wet washcloths in ziploc bags and put them in the cooler in case LO gets too warm, you can drape them over their neck.

LOL - I posted the same question yesterday.  Guess we are all ready for a beach day!

I think the baby pool to the beach is overkill, but I know some people like it. My in laws did it for my niece, just seemed to be a pain in the neck. You could easily dig a tiny pool a few yards  back from the waves.

It can be overkill, but it can be a lifesaver too.  It's a sand-free zone, and it's compact, so it's easy to carry.
