Jewelry. That way I can look back at it years from now and remember that it was given to me on my first mother's day.
I have no idea, but my husband is AWESOME at selecting gifts and he told me "The baby had to order something online, so don't check the credit card" since I check our activity online just to monitor it.
I want a pair of five fingers running shoes. I have left internet windows open on the ipad and desktop with the type I want. I think this is a big enough hint, but I am not expecting to get them.
I do know he's planning breakfast in bed on Sunday which I am excited about. I'm sure there will be a card, not sure though about anything else. Honestly, I would just love for him to say that he appreciates what I do.
a necklace with DS' name on it, a la vintage pearl. since we like to buy from small businesses, he got it off etsy. i sent him links to 5 different ones and he chose.
he NEVER asks me what i want, but he mentioned he had no idea what to get me, so i gave him the idea. he didn't mind since this is the first time i've ever done that and he really wanted to do something special for me. i'm not a big jewelry person, but i can't wear most of what i do have due to the nature of my job.
the surprise is which one he got and if he was able to fit DS' middle name on there, like i hoped for.
Funny story: Last Friday we were getting ready to go away for the weekend so we were packing up my car. I just got a brand new car, I've never had a new car before so this is pretty exciting for me. DH asked me to grab the RNP and throw it in the back so I did it and noticed there was a different mat in the back, like an all weather rubbery one. I come inside and he goes, "Happy Mother's Day!!" I responded, "Please don't tell me you got me a car mat for my first Mother's Day" lol. I might have hurt his feelings a bit but I had to be honest. Plus, he works in car parts, he didn't have to make much effort, just walk into the back room and grab it so it's not like he went out and got this for me. I did thank him after I got over the shock that this is what he thought I'd want lol.
So anyways he said there is something else comming. What I would really like is a necklace with DS's birthstone, or some sort of Mommy necklace. Nothing expensive, just sentimental. But now I know he already has something so I'm just going to keep my mouth shut and buy this for myself down the road.
Jewelry. That way I can look back at it years from now and remember that it was given to me on my first mother's day.
This is me exactly. I would like new diamond earrings because my old pair are from an ex and I think it is disrespectful to DH to wear them. I have not told him or left any hints recently but he knows I would like them. I don't think it will happen, but a girl can dream!!
I would LOVE To sleep late (even though I can't complain DD normally sleeps till 8-8:30) but we are driving down to the keys on Mothers Day and we want to get up around 6 to get there by early afternoon. Really I can't complain about that either we are going to the Keys for MD and my in laws will be there so that means momma can go part on duvual street one night since the last 2 times we went I was pregnant.
Nothing too crazy here - I would just like for DH to remember the day and maybe help out more than usual to give me a little break. But, it probably won't happen because his family scheduled a surprise birthday party for his mom, so we won't get to do much with just our little family.
I got a really nice gift for E's birth, so I'm not expecting much in the jewelry department. If he were to get me something, I hope he picks up on the hints I've been dropping about getting an initial E necklace....
I truly want to spend a nice day with DH and DS. Maybe do a picnic at the park and go for a swim in the pool. I hope DS sleeps well that night and only wakes up once. That would be wonderful!
I know some of you think I am the anti Christ for saying this but I want a day all alone, by myself in my house to do whatever I want. I wont ask or get it because DD2 wont take a bottle and given DH's health he can't take the girls himself all day.
I wouldn't turn away a plane ticket home either.
I am not expecting anything, I doubt he even knows it's Mother's Day on Sunday.
Yesterday DH told me that for part of my Mother's Day gift he is going to take care of DS Saturday while I go get a mani/pedi with my bff. I'm pretty excited about this!
Then he said that he knew that I already wanted that so he wants to get me something else that I don't know about. I have no clue what this will be but I'm excited!
DH bought it for me for Valentine's Day but I asked him to hold on to it for MD. I haven't seen it but know where it's hidden.
In all honesty though...I'm not a big MD/FD fan. I don't really expect anything special on Sunday though I'm sure DH will insist I sleep in and make me breakfast (which I'll take ). Maybe when I'm a mother longer I'll appreciate the holiday more.

Well I know I will be lucky if I get a card but I would LOVE a DSLR camera. I keep telling H I want one. Not having to cook and clean that day would be a bonus. Oh and extra sleep with a massage.

I'm practical, so I'd just love some more CDs to add to my stash. I was supposed to get a necklace w/ DS's name for a push gift, that then transformed into a birthday present (in January). I still haven't gotten one so I think maybe I'll get one on Sunday.

I don't think DH remembers Mother's Day is this Sunday, but I know MIL does. We don't live close to my family, but we do to DH's family. DH & MIL share the same birthday and I always feel so bad for him on his birthday because he never gets to pick what he wants to eat or where he wants to go to dinner unless we do something separate from the rest of his family. Since it's my first Mother's Day, what I really want is to either pick the menu for the day, or pick where we go out to eat as a family. I'd like something tangible too, like a card to hold on to - something small that I'll remember I got on my very first Mother's Day.
What do I truly want? An entire day off. And I'm taking it. Friday I am taking a day of vacation from work and will be dropping DS at his normal babysitter and then I'm spending the day by myself. I might nap, might shop, might just do nothing.
sleeping in, which isn't going to happen b/c we are doing a brunch for my mother & then heading 1.5 hours to his mother's. i would LOVE a vacation to a white sand beach LOl but i would like a massage or initial necklace & a nice card.
DH bought two things off Amazon that we're delivered this week. They're downstairs and I'm not allowed to peek--even though he's OOT this week. I'm kind of excited except DH usually thinks he's found THE perfect gift and he usually misses the mark ( except my push present which was a necklace with DS's birthstone--but he had his mom's help with that.)

There was a "You are my Sunshine" recordable book at Walmart with all the words to the song. It was about $30 and I reeled from sticker shock. But I really, really want it. If DH doesn't get it for me (he was there when I ooohed and awwwed over it), I'll probably go back and get it myself.
That's the song I sing to DS when I'm getting him ready for bed.
I truly want a Kindle fire, but we can't afford it right now.
I would like some sort of Mom-themed jewelry. It doesn't have to be expensive, but I'd like to commemorate my first Mother's Day like that.
DH and I talked about it last night, he admitted he had no idea what to get me and I didn't want to tell him exactly what, so I told him what I just said about commemorating MD. We'll see what he comes up with - he's a good gift-giver when he thinks about it.
I have been trying to get DH to buy me diamond earrings. I have tried for christmas, valentines and I even tried getting a push present (even though I was going to have a c-section).
I REALLY hope I get them for mothers day. Big ones.

I would love if DH got me birthstone jewelry, or something wiht DS's name on it. But, our lives have been kind of crazy lately, so I really doubt that he got me anything.
What I will ask for, if given the choice- a night alone in the guest room. No dogs, no baby monitor. Seriously, I just want to sleep.

Yeah, my husband "knows" it's this weekend, but the active part of his brain has probably filed it away in a dusty corner to be forgotten. I'm used to it by now, since we've been married 8 years and he's not really a planner about holidays. But I know he feels a little embarrassed because I've *already* got a couple Amazon boxes lying around that I've told him he can't open because they're Father's Day gifts.
Necklace or ring w/ Abby's birthstone and dinner out, but I'm just planning on my garden that he's helping put in. Last year I made a great roast dinner, then was hugging the bucket on the couch-didn't even get my dinner!! That's when I figured that I was truly preg and not just REALLY sick. (It wasn't that I was in denial, just that I had symptoms of a miscarriage so I hadn't taken a test). We have one graduating in a few weeks, so I'm not counting on anything big, but anything will be better than being sick!!!

Really? I just want to spend a full day with my husband and my daughter. He works all day Saturday and all day Sunday. It'll be just another day around here.
I want a mother's necklace (with DD's name and birthstone). I'm pretty sure he ordered one around my birthday but it came late, so I think he's holding onto it for MD.
I'd also love to sleep in, but that won't happen since DD needs to nurse whenever she wakes up, so I guess I can cross my fingers that she'll at least sleep closer to 7 instead of 6.
I don't really care. I just want him to acknowledge it. It's silly, because we don't make a big deal for most occasions. And I typically couldn't care less. But for my first mother's day, I'm just hoping I get a little something special.
I didn't know that it was already this weekend. I mentioned this thread to my husband in case he didn't know as well. All I want is food. A meal out or something tasty at home... cheese plate and wine comes to mind.
a necklace with DS' name on it, a la vintage pearl. since we like to buy from small businesses, he got it off etsy. i sent him links to 5 different ones and he chose.

Thanks for the link! Maybe if I send my DH a web address he will know what I am talking about and order one like it for me!
I want an Ergo Sport & yes I've told him about it. I also asked for a Keurig for Christmas & didn't get it because the red one was out of stock when he went shopping. I think he is debating the two. I want the Ergo more though because I can run up the street to get coffee if I become dire.
I want a pair of five fingers running shoes. I have left internet windows open on the ipad and desktop with the type I want. I think this is a big enough hint, but I am not expecting to get them.
I have the Bikila's in blue & I love them. I use them for CF though not so much running. The most I've ever run in them was a mile. I don't know if you do trail running or walking but they are awesome for that since using your toes & the tread lets you dig in a bit more.
What I want is to not celebrate mother's day. I've told DH and assured him that I'm not playing games. What I'm getting is a visit from my FIL & monster in law.
June 2016 April Siggy Challenge: Reasons my kid is crying
I don't think DH had anything figured out, even though he has the day off which is a miracle (MD is the busiest day after Vday in the restaurant biz).
I brought up the subject this morning. I think he wants to do brunch with BIL & SIL??
Really - I'd like to sleep in. Wake up to a beautiful brunch (not in bed). and have him give me a right hand ring. But seriously - we can't afford jewelry and I'd probably feel guilty if he did spend money on something like that for me. (I had secretly hoped he'd get me the same gift as a push present - sh*t - I didn't get squat from DH for the baby - not even flowers)
Whatever we end up doing I better not have to lift a finger - no dishes, no cleaning, no diapers. done.

2. As a gift, I would love to take digital photography classes. I always use the automatic "point and shoot" settings on our camera, and I really want to know how to do more. I've tried reading the manual and online tutorials, but I learn best by doing and I think a class would be fun!
I also just want to sleep late!!! Won't happen though, we have DDs 6 month/family pix at 8:00 Sunday morning. It's all the photographer had. Ugh. Gonna be a rough start to my first mothers day for sure!
