5 weeks and 3 days pregnant

i have been going through fertility treatments and got pregnant. i am now 5 weeks and 3 days. i went to the doctor to have a ultrsound done, but he didn't see a heart beat. i am scheduled for another ultrasound next week. he said if there isn't a heart beat he would abort it. should i get a second opinion or what. the embryo is growing also so i don't know what to think or do. please help

I would get a second opinion, plus I thought you can't see a heartbeat until at least 6 weeks at the very earliest

The heart doesn't start beating until sometime closer to 6 weeks. Have that next u/s but remember, he can't force you to do anything at all and if you feel you need a 2nd opinion, get it.

Oh NO! Your dr is wrong.....I didn't see a h/b with DD#1 until 7 weeks! And she's a very healthy 11yo now! I would DEFINITELY see a new dr. (((hugs, hon))) I'm having my second u/s on Wed. at 6w2d and if we don't see a h/b, I'll have another u/s at 7w2d and hopefully we'll see it then......but my dr would NEVER suggest aborting a baby....she would let a m/c happen naturally.

Is this post for real? What doctor would tell you he would abort your baby? That is insane. If this is true, which I don't think so... I'd switch doctors yesterday.
