Need "sack lunch" ideas

I have to go on a field trip with my class tomorrow.  I have no ideas on what I should take for lunch.  I hate sack lunches to start with and today none of the options sound even slightly appealing...like PB and J...yuck!  Any amazing ideas on what I could take?  I COULD take a cold pack in a lunch box if I needed to, but would rather not have to carry it all day.

  • I would bake a chicken and make chicken salad ( if you have a ice pack to put in)..or sandwiches, have some pretzels, apples, raisins .. etc.  Plenty of snacks to keep you up and going.

  • We have our 2nd grade field trip on Thursday, so I'll be in a similar predicament! I'm planning on taking an apple, some pretzels, and boiling a chicken breast the night before...cutting it up and eating that!

I will probably also take some fruit snacks or a granola bar.

Have fun on your field trip!

  • I'm sort of anti traditional packed lunch too.  I often will toss some extra pasta with marinara sauce - It's still pretty decent when it's cold.  Tacos-to-go are another favorite -- baggie with tortillas, baggie with meat or chicken, baggie with lettuce and cheese, etc.  That's better if you can heat the meat baggie up, but can work room temp too.

  • Granola bars, banana or apple, peanut butter crackers, or cheese and crackers. None of those are "amazing," but they're easy and don't need an ice pack. GL! Field trips are exhausting. I hope it's a good day!

  • The only thing to settle my stomach at all right now are the packs of Emerald's Breakfast nuts.  OMG yum.  Especially the yogurt covered raisins.  So, I would do that, apple slices, string cheese and baked chicken nuggets with ranch.  Even cold it's pretty good.
