Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Now I KNOW why DD is getting so sick at daycare...

I dropped DD off at daycare and put her in the exersaucer thingy to play.  I was talking with the daycare lady and noticed that one of the walking babies toddled over to DD to "talk".  How cute right?  Then the little buggar stuck his fingers in  her mouth.  Um.  ew.  DD just looked at me like WTF did that kid just stick his fingers in my mouth?  Daycare lady ran over there to get him away from DD and upon closer inspection I noticed that this kid is LEAKING snot everywhere.  That little snotbucket is going to get my kid sick again.  Great.

sigh.

  • Hehe...same thing happened to me and ds the other day!

  • Yuck that is gross but I have decided not to worry about that stuff at daycare.  The kids are going to be all over each other anyway and putting the same toys in their mouths, etc.  If that happened within the 10 mins you were there, what do you think happens all day long?  Everyone at DD's daycre has a cold and i'll bet they'll continue passing it to one another all winter.  But what can we do?  Hopefully they'll start to develop some kind of immunity!
  • yep. 'tis the price of daycare. i consider it future insurance.

  • At the last inspection for my DCP, the assistant was found feeding DD and the other baby her age with the same spoon! It doesn't really bother me, I expect her to get colds at this point.

now *that* would bother me. if the kids are going to be around each other/all over each other, you can't really control every bit of it. but, you can control sharing spoons.

  • After tons of colds, ear infections, two hospitalizations and more, I just look forward to the day when he's in middle school and is impervious to all germs... not unlike a robot.

I totally expect this kind of stuff to happen.  I just thought it was disgusting especially after seeing the snot trail little walker kid had.  Ew ew ew.

  • This happens all the time.  Just happened to my son this morning when I dropped him off.  He returned the favor by putting his fingers back into the other child's mouth.  Must be a way of greeting their friends.

  • Yep, I'm sure it happens all the time. The germs at daycare gross me out but I have to just pretend like this stuff doesn't happen or I would go crazy.

Now the spoon thing would bother me...stuff like that is controllable and shouldnt happen.
