Room for Baby

I need help!  3 bd home with a loft....my 16 yr. son lives with us and his 14 yr daughter visits, but not very frequently.  Want to make guest room/sd room into nursery.  Husband wants baby in room with us.  Being an older mom this time around, I really want the baby on a schedule fairlly early and feel the baby should be in its own room once sleeping through the night.  How can I get the room for the baby and not hurt feelings of others?  5 weeks to go, so I need a quick solution. Thanks...

Re: Room for Baby

  • Can the loft be used as a bedroom with some modification?

  • I would make the loft SD/ guestroom and give the baby SDs room.  you don't necessarily have to downgrade SD. make it an upgrade.  make sure the loft has privacy (may require some modification) then let her hep pick out new bedding/ accessories etc.

  • If the loft is a little more private, would your son want it? He's only 2ish years from college anyway. A lot of older teens like their "own" space like that. If not, like PPs suggested, make it an "upgrade room" for your SD.
