napping issues

DD used to scream when I tried to put her in for a nap, I'd let her scream for about 10-15 minutes, then lay down with her and she'd fall asleep.  If I tried to lay down with her from the beginning she'd just talk to me.  The past two days she'll spend 45 min playing in her room.  She doesn't have many toys, but she'll take out all of her books and just run around up there.  She's having fun, laughing and talking, but definitely not sleeping.  Yesterday I took her for a walk in the stroller and she fell asleep, so she is tiered, but how do I get her to stay in the bed?  She's been in a bed since September.

Re: napping issues

  • My DS used to want to just play too. We were told to go in and pick him up and tell him it's nap time the first time. Anytime after that you go in and say nothing. It took a bit but his back to napping with barely any problems.
