Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Any suggestions for SOUND sleeping?

Anyone have any good ideas to get baby to sleep more quietly? We had planned on having LO in our room for a few months, but her grunts and moans in her sleep are just too much.

Anything we can do to get her to have a more calm sleep??

Thanks so much!!

  • Newborns are just insanely noisy.  We had our LO in our room for just a few days before he drove us crazy.  We moved him into the master bathroom and closed the door between the two rooms.  I kept him close but cut down on the noise.  I think around 8 weeks he started to sleep more quietly.

  • My LO one stopped with the grunting at 5 weeks. Maybe you only have a week to go.

  • Ours is grunty and moan-ey too but I am just usually so tired that I can just pass out. I don't think you can do anything about their little sounds :) They are healthy. You can just put him in another room and get a monitor and put it on a quiet setting so it doesnt disturb you too much :/

  • It's better than crying, right? I'd just count my lucky stars that they're actually sleeping. I agree with pps that a little white noise might help cover up the little groans, etc. without drowning out actual crying.

  • DS is still a super noisy sleeper when he's trying to fall asleep  but I've found that in the past few weeks once he gets into deeper stages of sleep he's quiet. During his first 6-8 weeks though he was noisy all night long.
