For those of you that are keeping track (I totally understand why you wouldn't want to!)... how much have you gained since finding out you were pregnant? I've gained almost 6 pounds since finding out at 3w5d--so 6 pounds in 5 weeks. To me it's a little sad because my MW told me that I should gain around 5 pounds in the entire 1st tri. But then SIL told me the other day that she gained most of her weight in the 1st tri. I guess everyone is different!
What's your experience? Have you been puking too much to gain any weight or are you like me and eat constantly so you won't puke?
Re: How much weight have you gained?
I've gained about 2lbs. I'll be 8wks tomorrow; this is my first pregnancy. No m/s (yet) to get in the way of weight gain and I've kept up my workout routine, have just toned it down a bit re: heart rate. So I think I'm right on track

I haven't had any m/s yet, and I'm playing with a pound. Some days it's there, some days it's not :-) I can't seem to eat a vegetable to save my life, so I'm surprised I haven't gained more (famous last words!). I have read that women that lose/don't gain in the first tri often catch up in the 2nd and 3rd, so I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe your slow and steady weight gain will prevent stretch marks?!
Good luck!
Chemical Pregnancy
Me too except it's four. I'm a bit overweight to begin with though so I'm hoping to keep this in control. The only thing that keeps the nausea in control is eating though so we'll see how that works!

I have another ultrasound & appointment next Monday, so we'll see then!

I have lost about 5 at this point. I think it is a combination of nausea and cutting out some sweets. I gained 40 with my DS, so I am really hoping I don't go near that again, although I do slightly weigh less now than I did when I got pregnant with DS.
I gained most of my weight in the 3rd trimester with DS, although I was on bedrest for the last month of it.
~Big Sister (3) and Big Brother (5)~
I first lost 2 pounds, then gained them back, then gained two this week.
I know why I gained two this week - I let myself go hog wild on any sweet craving I had... need to keep it in check.

I have put on 5 pounds so far. I'm not one to keep track ever, but because it's twins I am trying to watch it a bit. I will be more worried when I am gigantic. I put almost 50 pounds on with my DS, and I lost it all. I may not look the same lol but I did lose all 50 pounds. lol I was sick for about 2 weeks this time around but only ever threw up once.
Good Luck
i lost 5-7 lbs (i forget exactly) at first and then i have slowly gained it back such that when i last stepped on the scale a couple days ago i was back to where i was after my last period. i seem to go up and down a pound or two depending on what i eat. i'm going with whatever cravings i have so that i avoid the nausea, and if things get too crazy then i'll back off i guess.
i read in the mayo clinic book you're only supposed to gain 1.5 lbs the first trimester. not sure if that is going to happen. lol. i'm hoping to only gain 15-20 lbs during the pregnancy since i'm overweight to begin with...though my dr said she expected me to gain 25-35.
