Lactose intolerance?

We are still on formula.  Gerber Goodstart Gentle formula.  It's regular formula (as opposed to Soy or Nutrigimen).

However, DS has a terrible diarrhea reaction to yogurt.  I would immediately consider a lactose intolerance, except that he takes regular formula.

Has anyone else experienced this?

    Lactose intolerant babies can use gentle formula.  Soy and nutramigen are for babies with milk allergies.  DD used similac sensative, but she is definitely lactose intolerant, the milk protein is broken down.  When we switched to regular whole milk, she woke up every night with horrible gas bubbles, screaming for almost an hour, and would be very gassy during the day, and spitting up again.

    Also, when you are lactose intolerant, yogurt and cheese are often easier to digest than milk.  So maybe it was something else.`

    My DS could only take Similac Sensitive formula (now coconut milk) but can't tolerate regular yogurt... he now eats Lactaid or Yoplait Lactose-Free yogurt almost daily. They have an enzyme that cancels the lactose.
