We have the Summer Infant Baby Touch and I love everything about it! Works great, and I can see every detail of DD, including seeing her breathe, which was such a relief especially in the beginning. It wasn't cheap but it's cheaper on Amazon.

We initally got just some basic Uniden security cameras. It came with 2 mountable cameras, but that wasn't cutting it for me. I also went out and got the Angelcare Sound/Movement Monitor, because I'm obsessive. It was great for peace of mind. I really like the Angelcare for the simple fact that I never have to worry about going in to check on DS and finding that he isn't breathing!
I am going to be the odd one here and say you don't really need one. I'm glad I got mine used for $8 b/c I have used it maybe twice. My DS sleeps in the next room down the hall from us and I just leave both doors open and can hear him just fine. If I need to check on him I just walk in his room. I guess if your nursery is on the other end of the house/upstairs it would be useful.
We have the Sony audio-only monitors, and they work just fine for us. I can turn them up loud enough to hear DS breathe, and can turn them down low enough to only hear him if he gets worked up. I think video is way overkill.
I have a Foscam security camera that I can watch/control from my iPhone, iPad or any computer. It has two way audio, night vision, zoom, etc. We love it.

we got this video monitor, and its great. We didnt want to spend a ton, and this does way more than we need it to. Im def glad we got the video as opposed to just the sound. We don't use it at night, just for naps during the day. And oh, we spent about $100, not $150 on it as the link shows.
We got this one and I have been really happy with it. I was a little worried because it was a lot cheaper than most of the other ones but it has a good picture and a great range, I took it all the way to the back of our yard with the camera upstairs and the picture was perfect. We just use it for naps right now but it has a setting where the picture goes off and flips back on if there is any noise which seems like it will be great for night time when he goes to his own room.
The sweet ladies at my work pooled together and bought me the motorola video monitor and I love it! I use it all the time because we have to keep DS' door closed to his room so the dogs don't barge in there and wake him up.
We have the Angel care and it's been good for peace of mind. It doesn't have video and I never really missed it until DD was a toddler and could get out of her regular bed. It would have been nice to see what was going on in there sometimes!

We also got this as well. It is expensive but we think it is worth every penny. My DS only sleeps in a very dark room and we can see him very clearly with this monitor. I highly recommend it.

I'm going to try that Foscam camera! That would be so great to see from our ipad and iphone! We could check on him when babysitter is watching him! Went on their website and it seems reasonably priced too! Hope there are no surprises in setting it up :-)

If you go to the Summer website, you can purchase a refurbished monitor for less than half price! I had twins recently and wanted to have a monitor in each crib. I paid $80 (includes shipping!) for the same monitor I had bought only 3 years prior for $179+ tax. I only wish I had known about the website sooner.
