Pinterest is showing my facebook friends- how to fix?

Is there a way that facebook friends can't find me on pinterest?  It's showing me facebook friends on the left hand side and I'm sure I come up in their pinterest.  I don't want to follow any and don't want them following me.

    Go into your Pinterest account and find the privacy settings.  It's a checkbox to undo.  I did it too.

    The only checkbox I see is "Link to facebook?"  And I have that as "off".  But, facebook friends are still being shown for me to "follow" and one just followed me.

    Log out of Pinterest.  Then log back in WITHOUT going through the FB or Twitter log ins.  Then go turn OFF the FB link in your account settings.  I had this same problem!

    I think I want to log in without FB (or basically have my Pinterest account be separate, I guess it'd have to be a new account somehow?).  But is it fairly easy to decide who to follow if you don't know someone?  I dunno, I'd like the privacy factor for sure, but I really don't want to lose all the stuff I've pinned to date, and I do like following friends because we have similar tastes...what to do, what to do.
