We just found out that baby #2 is on the way, we already have a boy name picked out and our DS is Lane Timothy. We are looking for a name that is feminine and strong, but not popular. (When we picked out our DS?s name we had a rule about it not being in the top 100 on SSN list for the last 10 years and would like to follow this again. It is extremely important to us not to have a popular name as DH & I both grew up with extremely popular names and hated being one of many in every class.)
Some names we both like, but don't love are: Brynn, Sophia, Miranda, Scarlett, Caroline, Layla and Audrey. (some are too popular)
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Re: Need Girl Name Suggestions
I like a lot of your names, but like you said a few are probably too popular for your criteria.
I am waiting for the new social security list to come out in a week or so to finalize our girl name. Right now our top choice is Isla. I also love Elena, but think there are so many spelling variations that it might bug me.
Other names we love:
Aurora (possible nn Rory/Rora)
Maya (too popular)
Maeve (too close to our last name)
Maren
Iris
Paige
Carys (cannot get DH onboard with this one)
Here are some names that popped up on Nymbler.com that might work.
Clarissa
Julianne
Brooke
Sabrina
Paulina
Morgan
Francesca
Juliet
Cordelia
Felicity
Allison
Antonia
When I think "feminine and strong," I think:
Ruth
Diana
Cecilia
Iris
