I think the best favors are something edible. Little trinkets usually get tossed or just not used. Consider a small box of truffles or a really cute cookie packaged in a cellophane bag. For one baby shower, that's what I did, rubber ducky cookies packaged in little bags from the party store that had blue and yellow ducks on them.
being able to eat my gift sounds like a winner to me. lol if its to expensive try a dollar tree or dollar store get picture frames, candles, and things that you know will be used.

How many people will there be? Mine is relatively small (12 people), so Mom bought candied apples off of QVC! We throw all sorts of crud away, so we thought food wouldn't be a waste of money!
Another cute edible I did once was fortune cookies. I bought them premade (look online), but they have a decent-sized opening so you can make your own fortunes and stuff them in. We just made up a few cute sayings and then did lucky numbers and learn Chinese words on the bottom like they do at Chinese restaurants, but made the numbers/sayings appropriate to the occasion. Each guest got 2 in a little takeout box. They were pretty cute!
Definitely edible! Either chocolates, candies, cookies.... something like that. If you're creative or good in the kitchen, you can do chocolate covered pretzels or oreos, or those cake pops are really cute. Anything like that wrapped up and tied off with a bow is a great favor.

I agree. My shower is tomorrow and we got microwave popcorn. We got it in the pink bag (also comes in blue and green) with a personalized label that says "She's about to pop!", the due date, the date of the shower and "Thank you for sharing our special day" or something like that. Very cute and edible too!
There were "bun in the oven" candles at mine and I gotta tell ya -- everyone loved them!!! They were little cinnabons in an oven lol Super cute and totally useable.
I agree that the best favor is always edible. I did go to a bridal shower that had a vase of "flowers" in the center of the table and when it was time to do games that needed a pen the flowers WERE the pens. Cute and we took them home. I've used mine at work this Spring (daffodil). Someone made them using a regular straight BIC pen and attaching silk flowers with green florist tape.
Oh and the vase became the "prizes" when someone won a game.
I co-hosted a baby shower last year and we decided against favors. Instead we made place cards that in lieu of a gift, a donation had been made in the mom to be's name and included the charity name. We had picked Make A Wish and included a little line about feeling so lucky to be welcoming a new baby into the world, we also wanted to recognize the hardship that so many kids have.

Mine will be the pocket size hand sanitizer from Bath and Body Works.
Agree edible is the way to go...I have been to way too may bridal and baby showers and I always throw the favor way (unless i can eat it).
You could doo baby themed cookies (bottles, rattles, onsies, etc)--if you know the sex you could do it color themed as well.
My friends did chocolate dipped pretzel rods that they made and were amazing.
You coul dpretty much do anything if you "dress it up" enough anything can be a favor...
GL!
