Do u force the swaddle?

I've been trying to swaddle the girls before bed but they kick and scream, trying to break out,  I tried one of those halo sleep sacks but they seem enormous on my preemies. Should I continue to try to swaddle? Any other ideas? Thanks

Re: Do u force the swaddle?

  • do they sleep well without being swaddled? if so, then i wouldn't worry about it. but if they sleep better swaddled, i'd do it. there was always some wiggling during swaddling time, but after they were all comfy and cozy, they'd stop. but if your girls don't need the swaddle, don't worry about it!

as far as sleep sacks go, halo makes preemie sized ones (X-small, i think) or the gerber ones are smaller, they're 0-6 months.

  • I'm about to quit swaddling Audrey. Natalie will grunt and struggle for about five minutes and then go to bed. Audrey for the past few nights will grunt and cry. I tried EVERYTHING (rocking, shuushing, you name it) and she wouldn't stop until I let her arms free.
  • My babies hated swaddling by about 2 weeks old. ?Seriously. ?Hated it. ?They wouldn't go to sleep and by morning their arms were out anyway. ?I wouldn't force it.
  • Great thread!  I've been forcing the swaddle.  They were escaping from thier old blankets but can't seem to escape their new Swaddle Me's.  I may try without swaddling and see how they do.
  • Just a lurker- DD never liked the swaddle.  I don't think she slept swaddled once since she left the hospital.  I wouldn't force it.
