One of my friends sent us a box of like 10 baby books;-) I'm reading "What to Expect when you're Expecting" and DH is reading "The Expectant Father." Every night we read in bed together and discuss what we've read. It's been a lot of fun and extremely informational.
Re: What baby books are you reading?
I opted out of the What to Expect books because I have the app on my phone. Plus, I've been told the information is somewhat outdated.
I'm reading "The Happiest Baby on the Block", "Ina May Gaskin's Guide to Childbirth", and "Bringing Up Bebe". One of my girlfriends is sending me "Push", "Smart Woman's Guide to Childbirth", and "Belly Laughs".

I sat and read Belly Laughs within a matter of a couple hours on my kindle. It was pretty funny so I couldn't put it down.
I've also got Your Pregnancy Week by Week on my kindle.
When I found out I was pregnant I ordered a bunch of books from the library- I tend to read quickly and they aren't usually things you want to re-read. I already read all the Ina May Gaskins books before I found out I was pregnant which are good. Then I read the mayo clinic one, which I also really liked. I hated a girlfriends guide to pregnancy, I thought it was bossy and condescending and just plain wrong about half the time. The only book I bought is pregnancy day by day. Which I love- it has tips and advice mixed in with how the baby is developing every single day, which is a lot of fun. I read it every morning (each page is one day) before I go to work. I would also recommend watching the business of being born if you have netflix you can stream it for free, Oh and I love the nova program Life's Greatest Miracle, it is AMAZING:

The first time around I read and liked Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy the best, also read Prengancy Week By Week but thought it was really redundant and overly fearful. I didn't actually read WTE until my son was born and I started with The First Year, and it was helpful if you take their paranoid advice with a grain of salt!
Another one that I'd recommend is Eating for Pregnancy. A friend sent DH "Be Prepared: A Practical Handbook for New Dads". I found it kind of shallow and useless but he liked it so I guess that means it was targeted for new dads, not new moms!
I am also reading the week to week book and I dont recall the name.
Married since 8/7/10
I agree.

BFP 7/1/12 - Counting down to our little girl, EDD 3/8/13
These two books have opposite messages.
I'd leave WTE on the shelf if you're looking for panic-free.
This time around, I'll probably just flip through "Your Pregnancy and Birth", re-read "Exercising Through Your Pregnancy", "Easing Labor Pain", and flip through the earmarked pages of "Active Labor". My SIL is also loaning me "birthing from within".
I grabbed bunch from my library without too much research - so the stack next to me is
What to expect when you're excpeting
pregnancies for dummies
eating well when you're expecting
what to expect when you're expected
