It is usually done between 35 and 37 weeks! My Dr mentioned doing mine at my next appoint which will be 35 weeks 3 days.

Some OBs and MWs due the anus, not all. Mine does not.

Group B Strep is a bacteria that is safe for anyone except the baby upon vaginal delivery. If you had Group B Strep and were not pregnant they would not treat it at all. If you are GBS+ they will give a dose of penicillin or another antibiotic during your labor.

All of this. Wanted to add, no one reminded me they swab your butt so that was a nice lil surprise today. Oh yeah, got mine today.... Even if you have a c-sec they need to know. Asked about it today & nurse said baby doc asks for this to be done.

For sure get a heads up so you can groom a bit but no biggy. Swab here, swab there.... If neg= nothing If pos=antibiotic in IV won't even know the difference...

Had mine the other day. My OB's office doesn't swab your butt. And really, you don't even really know they're doing it. It takes a total of 2 seconds (for me it did since she was no where near my booty lol) So, don't stress ladies! That's one of the easier parts of this pregnancy thing lol
