Baby Names

Help with my babygirls name...

-->

My husband and I are trying to figure out our babies first name. Were thinking about combining two names... What do you think?

Taiyajanae  (Taaya JaNay)

and her middle name would either be (after Jamaica)  Jamika, Amika, or Amore last name Bailey

I really need advice on this. I like the first name but not certain on

Re: Help with my babygirls name...

  • I'd like to buy a vowel Pat.

Please rethink this.  Never in a million yrs will it ever be pronounced or spelled correctly by anyone.

  • The MNs are ok, the first name is a mess and will never be said properly.

  • That is quite the mouthful. I find it very confusing to figure out the pronunciation and would have no clue how to spell it if you said it out loud to me. I really think you should reconsider the first name.

Why not name her Taiya Janae, or Taiya Jamika?

  • ha. good one.
  • My baby is going to be half black (jamaican) and I do like original names, My stepsons name is Jevaughntae. We were gonna name her Taiya Janae Bailey but my husband really likes the names combined... I could do without the mean comments but I dont mind the honest constructive opinions. Thank you

Well you do get a sayso as well.

    I like Taiya. I think it's pretty.

    I also like Janae.

    I like Bailey as well.

I just think they are very nice as separate names.

  • You can name her Taiya Janae and still call her Taiya Janae if your husband likes the two names combined. That way you get the sound he likes but it is much more manageable to pronounce and spell. Then if she find her name too cumbersome as she gets older she can choose to go by Taiya, TJ, etc.

Okay- just saw this post so I guess not. I would keep the names separate. Definitely.

  • Seems like too much name for a little kid to handle.

Definitely NMS and I wouldn't want to spend my whole life having people screw up my name.

  • I just had an email come through of what not to do with naming babies and one of them was combining two names.  I get what you're trying to do there, but my personal concern, if it were my child, is that it would be too hard for people to figure out how to say it.  I realize that not everyone is concerned about that though.  If you're going for unique, I think you're good.  :)
  • I would keep them separate.  They are hard enough to pronounce apart, it is a mouthful together. Honestly, I am not a fan of the names, at all. It just seems too made up and too difficult to say.  My two year old is having a hard enough time learning to say his name (Nolan).  I can't imagine trying to get a two year old to say Taiyajanae.

  • I think they are lovely separate.  Smooshed together it doesn't have the same charm and just looks like a mess really.  I would keep them apart.

  • Keep them seperate and call her by both names. I could not even focus on this name to understand what it said.

  • Keep the names separate. And you could even go for two middle names.

    Taiya Janae Amika Bailey

A beautiful mouthful of Jamaican flavor! And easy to swallow :)
