Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Anyone have problems with generic formula?

We were doing enfamil and then I just switched him to Kirkland (costco) generic formula. At the same time, he started this horrible waking weird through the night thing - which I think is teething but am not a 100% sure.

Re: Anyone have problems with generic formula?

  • The generic formula was always more yellow in color.  Not a big deal, but it stained the clothing, bibs and burb rags and I hadn't been able to find anything to get it out....we're sticking to the Enfamil label.

  • When we first tried the generic Sam's Club brand, DS was constantly spitting it up all over. So, we switched to GoodStart, and it stopped.

****The waking period is typically due to teething. Give him two teething tablets under the tongue and a dose of Tylenol before putting him to bed.
  • We've had no problems. Sounds like teething, but you never know!

  • No probs here but dd is pretty tolerable of just about anything.
  • When DS started on formula at 6 months, I started him with Target's generic formula.  He never had any problems with it.  Of course, I can't really compare it to anything except BM, and he sleeps much better now that he's on formula and actually gaining weight!
  • DS had a wakeful time at 6 months, if the only difference is night waking I don't think it'd be the formul.a
  • It doesn't seem like a symptom of formula change. But diff. babies tolerate diff. formulas.  DS didn't tolerate Good Start or Similac, but does fine w/kirkland.
