I know you can't put babies in the actual seat of a jogging stroller until they're older, but at what age can you jog with baby in the car seat using the stroller's car seat adapter?
My girlfriend has been doing it with her BOB since her baby was about two weeks old. I just started jogging with my daughter in her infant seat in my Britax stroller when she was about 8 weeks old. She loves it! I actually ran with her in a 5k last weekend...baby's first race
Good to know! I've been wanting to get out and run since it's beautiful in the mornings, but didn't know if I could do it just yet. Anything special I should know?
I have a Bob and you're supposed to wait until they are 6 months and can support their head and sit in the seat. The infant seat is a tipping hazard. I waited until 6 months with dd #1 and will wait the same with dd #2. there should be info in your owners manual or you can check their web site too.
The stroller companies recommend to wait. Some say up to a year. From what I understand is they want the baby to have more head control. I don't know what kind of places you're running at, but having my baby in the car causes more bouncing around than the paved trails by my house. I'm only 2 weeks pp and havn't began running yet. I'm planning to run as soon as I can and love to hear that people do it soon. From what I understand, some pedi's give the green light early on. For those runners out there running, i'm assuming you've had no concerns thus far?

I asked mt pedi about this expecting her to say 6+ mo, but she gave the OK for now. She said the car seat should provide enough support for light jogging, She didn't recommend running for speed or racing w/the stroller this young.

I run with my girl on a flat paved trail around the lake near my house. I haven't had any issues and specifically watch to make sure her head is well supported. My pedi was fine with taking her out with me.
This is all awesome to know. My clinic was dealing with an emergency, so I had to leave a message. And then I missed her when she called back, so she left me a VM. I bet if I told her I was taking LO on smooth trails near my place (they're brand new and super smooth), and that I'd be using the car seat, she'd be ok with it.
