What is your little man(s)s name?
DH and I thought we had a boys name picked out, Joseph Chase (Joseph is a family first name, but we would refer to LO by his MN).
I am either doubting it or questioning if I really like it.
Looking for inspiration!
:-)
Re: Moms of Boys
Richard Colton (Richard is a family name, so he goes by Colton)
2 years, 2 surgeries, 2 clomid fails, 2 IUIs, 1 loss, IVF #1 - 10/25/10 = BFP!, DS is now 3.5yrs!
TTC #2 - 6/12 surgery #3, FET #1 & 1.2 = BFN, 12/2012 FET #2 = BFP! DD is 1.5 yrs!
Surprise! 12/16/14 BFP, loss #2 12/31/14
I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
Nicholas James
Ethan James
Other boys names I like: Liam, Caleb, Andrew, Ian, Evan
We had a heck of a time choosing a boys name. There were several that I loved that my DH vetoed (ones that I can remember are Nathan and Kyle). He loved Vincent, but we have a very Italian last name, and I didn't want a Vinny (last name). We both liked Evan and Jeremy, but have relatives with those names.
We ended up going with Matthew David.
Elijah Herbert (mn is a family name)
I also really liked Asher and Henry.
REALLY! Finally a mama I can ask these questions of...
Was it hard to explain to people to call your son Colton? How do you handle a birth announcement? Do you picture him going by R. Colton ...... when he is older?
DH is Joseph Carl, My father in law is Joseph Albert, My dad is Joseph Nicholas and my grandfather was Joseph (no middle name). We don't want a Jr nor do we want a JJ.
I guess I am worried about screwing up LO with a complicated name situation for life!
Make a pregnancy ticker
Nikolai Joseph
I suggested Nicholas and MH said "you mean like Santa Claus?"
He countered with Nikolai after Nikola Tesla and it stuck. Joseph is MH's middle name.
Parker Reid
He was nearly Connor Reid...but I didn't want two C's in the house, I thought it would be weird for some reason.
I also adore the name Grant, but our last name ends with a T, and I didn't think it sounded good together.
Gavin James.
I also like Carter, Preston, and Oliver.
Because we're fancy like that.
My boy's name is Aaron Tyler...boys names are soooo hard!
If I ever have another boy, I don't have a clue what his name would be.
Good luck!
Michael Gage (after my DH). We call him Mack.
If we have another son he'll be Atticus, August (Gus) or Andrew. I also love Thomas (Tommy) and Joseph.
DD (5 years old) from IUI in 2012
TTC 3rd and final!: IUI #1 in progress!
My boys are Adler, Gennaro, and Conlan. All of my kids got my maiden name for their MN. It's Cella (pronounced like CHella). I also loved the names Davis and Finnegan, but my hubby was not into either of them.
My nephew's name is Curtis Chase. He goes by Chase, always has, so I love that idea. Curtis is a family name from his dad's side, and there was never any plan to call him Curtis. Honestly, nobody really ever asks for an explanation of why he's Chase and not Curtis. He only ever introduces himself as Chase.
Landon Phillip (mn is family name)
& soon to be Easton Wyatt
I hate anything that can easily be made a nickname - weird I know.
I love our boy names, not boring but not too odd.
Our sons names are Evan Jude and Ethan George.
Jude is my husbands middle name and George is my FIL's middle name.
I also liked Henry, Nathaniel, Owen, and Nolan.
My DS is Jones Daniel. We just liked the first name and his middle name is for my brother that died 15 years ago.
My DS is Davis. Ask me today what a future son would be and I'd sat Griffin (Griff). When I was pg with our twins we were considers Luke.
Middle name is my husband's middle name. Any future boy will likely have my grandpa's first name as a mn.
Daniel Christopher. Middle name is after my father and the first name we just wanted something strong. I love the name Patrick too but that was out because I have a nephew with that name.
In my old professional life it was not at all uncommon to get resumes and business cards with a first initial and middle name. That wouldn't seem weird to me at all. I think because we all had to be licensed they couldn't just have the middle name. So casually they would be Colton, but 'officially' listed as R. Colton.
My sons name is Dillon Richard. Richard is after my FIL who passed away when we were pregnant. We tossed around using Richard as his first name, but since my BIL is also a Richard (Rick), I didn't want to do it. To many Richards and I am not a fan Rich or Richie as a nn.
Using his mn as his go-by name was never an option for me. Like you, I thought it was just too confusing so we just switched Richard to a middle name. Still honoring FIL, just less confusing for Dillon (or at least less for my son to explain when he is older)
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I have a Jack Benjamin and a Henry Christopher.
Jack Benjamin was my grandmother's brother's name, also, my husband's name is Ben so it was after him as well. Christopher is Ben's middle name. So, they're both named after their dad.
Other names I like: August/Gus (family name), Charles/Charlie, Oliver, Miles, Milo, Brock (family name), Rufus (family name), Oscar, Abraham, Abram, Ezra, Jude, Graham, and Silas.
Our son is Reed. We liked Gibson and Page for a boy as well. Although it seems like Paige is so often a girl's name that it didn't go over well when we tested it out here:)
I love last names as first names.
Thomas James (TJ), Jack Robert and Jason Matthew. I really wanted Jason to be Chase, I love that name but my H vetoed it. We were going to name him Jace instead but it felt like he needed something a little more "formal" so it become Jason.
FWIW I like your choice but I'd flip it and call him Chase Joseph unless you HAVE to do Joseph first.
Lucas Milo and Simon Elias.
We were really bummed that we used Milo as a middle name because we love the name and struggled with a boys name for Simon.
Other names we seriously considered were Elliot, Eli, Silas, and Samuel,
My DS is named after both his grandpa's.
In your case, can you switch and name him Chase Joseph? it might be simpler and pave the way for your children to not have to name their children Joseph too.
IVF #1 - BFP (6dt)
Unassisted Pregnancy #2 - lost at 15w6d due to T21, severe heart defects, and fetal hydrops
Liam Francis (Francis is DH's name) and Finnian (Finn) Dillon- Dillon is a family surname.
Baby boy #3 due in 5 weeks and currently unnamed although MN will likely be Stephen after my dad.
William Clement, after my dad, Clement William, who hated his first name.
I was pretty confident that my dad would not have wanted us to give Will the same name because he wasn't a fan of his own name. And my grandmother had really wanted to call my dad William after her father. So our swapping the names was kind of symbolic.
I think either of swapping the names or going by first initial, middle name is fine, understandable, etc.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
