I try to read to LO every night, although it doesn't always happen. But over the past couple weeks he's become extremely attached to one specific book. I don't know if he just really likes the pictures or the words (they rhyme and are pretty sing-songy). Every time I ask him I mention the name of the book, he gets this huge smile and starts making the same funny noises he makes when he sees his favorite blankie or bottle. I try to read other books to him, but he usually starts to get squirmy in my arms and reaches for this one specific book. Many nights I have to read it to him a couple (even 3!) of times because as soon as I finish and try to put it away he reaches for it again. I remember LOVING a certain few books when I was young but not this young. Is this normal? Of course I shouldn't be worried, but then I wonder if it's a sign of autism. Yes, I'm being a crazy FTM. Anyone else's baby do this?
Re: Anyone have a LO obsessed with one book?
She definitely has favorites. It used to be Moo Baa La la la, but then I lost it and haven't bought a new one yet. Now it's I Love you Through and Through. She keeps dragging it to me and climbing in my lap, and as soon as I finish it she opens it back up for me to start again.
I don't think it's anything to be worried about!
D's great grandmother gave him this recordable book for Christmas. He loves hearing her read to him.
Yep, Ev's favorite is Hop on Pop. He'll go grab it out of his toy box whenever he wants to read it (which is at least once a day) and gets a huge grin when I start reading. I try reading him other books but he usually loses interest about halfway through. I'm sure he'll change favorites at some point so I'm not too worried.
Yes, I was just about to post about favorite books! Joey LOVES Snuggle Puppy by Sandra Boynton and Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Bill Martin/Eric Carle. He bobs his head to the rhythm and signs "more" as soon as I finish reading them. I love it!
