Naptime in crib. . .

SUCKS. Trying to slepe train LO to go to sleep on her own in her crib and it's so difficult. At night shes fine but during the day, fuggetaboutit. SHe gets so irritated she starts scratching the hel1 out of her head. I was spoiling her by letting her sleep on my chest for naps.  Makes me sad =[

  • Keep at it! It took me a few weeks to get him to be able to nap in his crib (way longer for him to go longer than 35 minutes there, but that's another deal entirely) but now he goes down great, with the occasional gremlin noise. You can do it.

  • She fell asleep for 5 minutes and woke up pissed and screaming. I brought her back downstairs and now shes chasing the cat in her walker. She's going to be a tough one. I'm going to give her a bottle, exhaust her some more and then try again.

She hates her swing, I haven't used it in a couple months. Now it's just taking up space in a closet. Both my husband and I are extremely stubborn, so I think this little lady got the worst of it.

  • We have trouble with this too. DS napped once in his crib for 1.5 hours but has never repeated it. For now, I just lay him in my bed to sleep and he will sleep there for 2 hours (so at least it is not on me). I figure he starts daycare in two weeks so that is going to throw everything off anyway, but maybe they can train him to nap in the crib since they are  not mushy wusses like me ha ha

  • Its hit or miss here. There are days that she will go down beautifully in the crib and sleep there for almost an hour. Then there are days that she will have none of it, and it is a 2-hour scream fest until she is so exhausted she just lays there and sniffles. I am standing there the whole time (while she is fighting sleep etc.) and patting her tummy/butt.

The days that it works are awesome. The days that it doesn't are not so awesome.

I'm right there with you. I can't get DD to nap more than 30 minutes in her crib, yet she sleeps 11-12 hours straight in there at night. It's infuriating. She's been sleeping in her swing since day 1 and most days I give up and put her in her swing. DS was the same but he was easier to break than DD.  Girls are STUBBORN!!!

If she sleeps 11-12 hrs at night, she isnt going to do 5 hours in the day so maybe she prefers multiple short naps. . .?
