I've been misbehaving at my ILs. This morning MIL made a joke about how she STTN and felt well-rested this morning and then started asking question after question. I said, "Good for you and no questions until I've had my coffee." Then she continued to ask questions, so I just made a fart noise as my response. Then V threw up on the rug and I told her that the advantage of having a barf-colored rug is that it won't show up.
I am on the internet now because I reset their router. They tell me every time that we come that they don't know their wireless password, and I find that ridiculous. So now their wireless network is unprotected and I'm not telling them until we're leaving.
I felt bad for being a jerk after I had my coffee, but making a joke about being well-rested to someone who was up half the night is cruel.
The other day I saw my toddler washing her face and hands, she's pretending and it's her new "thing." I saw the draw open under our bed (captains bed) and it was mine and DH's "private" draw. In there are condoms, lube... Well you get it.
Turns out my DD was washing her hands and face with our lube. At least I know it's non-toxic.
I walked by a guy at the mall the other night who was wearing Drakkar Noir. it sent me right back to high school and my first love and got me all excited I might need to track down a bottle for MH for Father's Day! i'm sure he'll be so pleased!
LOL! I remember that smell :-)
Haha, DH and I were going through some old boxes recently and came across a never used bottle of it. He asked me in jest if he should start wearing it. No thanks, no need to revist high school.
My other confession is that I am too lazy to do CIO. Every night I tell myself I will try it. But then the middle of the night waking comes and I would rather just get up, feed her, bump, and go back to bed.
I can't think of a specific instance but at least once a week I read a post where I assume the person is full of it.
LOL, me too. . . like the baby that says "I love you"
Yeah, but my baby totally does recite Shakespeare.
My baby is competing in the olympics this summer. She's a synchronized swimmer.
I can think of a specific instance, there was a poster earlier this week who said that her baby associated the word "momma" with her. I wanted to reply that V associated the word "mom" with me, but only when we said it in Chinese. The mom competition annoys the crap out of me. I don't remember who the poster was, so I'm not trying to single you out; posts like that happen all the time, it was just the last one that I remember.
My AW post yesterday was not meant to be a p!ssing match or mom competitio. it was just so that everyone could AW what their babes are up to. The people that turned it into a p!ssing match are the ones complaining about it.
"Sometimes I am two people. Johnny is the nice one. Cash causes all the trouble. They fight." - Johnny Cash
OK, I have another...DS has some somewhat long hair on the top of his head (only on the top though). I am really tempted to put gel in it to keep it standing up mohawk style and drop him off at daycare like that for just one day. It kind of stands up on its own anyways but gelling it would make it so much more effective.
I bought some colored jeans yesterday. They're neon orangy-coraly colored. Go ahead-flame me.
No flames here...just jealous you could pull that off.
I actually like the colored jean trend. I'm not sure what sort of top and shoes you would wear with them to pull it off though.
Hooray Kmart - come to the dark side!
Crystal - I wear my bright turquoise ones with a plain v-neck white or gray or black tee (breastfeeding friendly) and ballet flats or slip on keds or my Toms. Or if it's cold, boots.

I don't read the posts marked 'sad'. Baby Zachary's death really messed me up for weeks. I still pray for him, but I just can't read those posts right now, it's just too depressing. Maybe it's a coping mechanism? I know life isn't all sunshine and lolllipops, but I don't want to get myself down like that again.
My confession this week was going to be that I don't read posts marked "sad" or "T&Ps", not because I don't care but more because I do care about others, even if they aren't people I know. I also have some family stuff going on, so I'm afraid of someone posting about a similar situation to mine, which will bring up all the feelings about my family's stuff that I am trying to keep out of my head.
I read them because I can't help myself but the scene with the baby getting killed in Game of Thrones put me into hysterical tears. When I think about something happening to me or Olivia I totally lose it. I also thought when she was 2 months that I couldn't wait for DH and I to go away for a weekend. Now I am dreading it.
We were 2 under 2, now 3 under 3!
Team Green turned Team Pink with #1, Team Green turned Team Blue with #2, Team Green turned Team Pink again with #3

I want to buzz Olivia's head. Not to the scalp but with like a #10 or something so all the weird long hairs get cut. I know this is ridiculous and I doubt I'll actually do it but when I see those long hairs I just want to do it!

I get jealous of working moms. Sometimes I get jealous of my husband when he leaves for work in the morning. I know I am fortunate to have been able to stay home with the girls and that the grass is always greener. But it gets really lonely and I miss all the adult interaction.
Oh my God, I agree with you! I was really feeling this yesterday!
This is me exactly. So glad I'm not the only one.

I laughed pretty good at this one - to the point one of my coworkers just walked in to find out what was so funny because it sounded good. Thanks for the pick me up on my break!
My FFFC... I love my medical team to the point that I'm extremely protective of them. Especially my obstetrician who delivered my son - I just love the guy! I thought the post was really cute (and parts of it funny). I really enjoy reading what other kids are doing so that I can work with my daughter on things I wouldn't have thought of. I totally get wanting your child to do/say something, but let's be realistic with what their abilities truly are. I didn't post because my baby only mouths babbles (mouth moves, no sound). Please make these posts again, because I do like reading them!

Toms, another flammable confession! Which color of Ace bandage shoes do you have? I hated those for the longest time, but now that they have sparkly ones out, I kind of want a pair.
Ha! They were so awesome when I was pregnant. I also have a pair of the Tom wedges. Super comfortable. I actually wished someone would gave G a baby pair as a gift, alas, nobody did.
ps Woodsie: I totally rock the J Brand high waisted jeans so we can still sit in the corner together!
This is kind of a silly one, but I've been meaning to put it out there for a while, so here it is. Up until about 8 months ago (shortly before E was born), I thought "Pat the Bunny" was a book about a bunny named Pat. (Like the androgynous character from SNL, but without the androgyny.) It wasn't until a good friend bought us a copy of the book, and I read it, that I learned it was an instruction: "Mom pats the bunny. Dad pats the bunny. Now YOU pat the bunny."
When we read it to E, it still sounds weird to me, and I'm still a little surprised each time when it turns out not to be a book about Pat, the Bunny.
1. I am also too lazy to try CIO... or really any other method. I'm home with L all day so it doesn't bother me (too much) having to wake up 3 times a night to nurse her.
2. I think it was *kagl08* who's FFFC made me die laughing with the lube... I can just picture your face when you saw her doing that haha
3. I do read the sad/prayers stories and I tear up or flat out cry for each one (especially baby Zachary). It makes me remember to not take one second with my daughter for granted, and it also helps give me more patience with her.. because I know that parents who have lost a child would do anything to be able to wake up 3 or 4 times a night to a fussing baby...
4. If I could pull off colored jeans I'd wear them everyday.. but I think I'll stick to my blue jeans and maternity capris.
My confession is that I haven't given L a bath in almost a week.. and also I honestly haven't figured out how to wash her hair by myself yet, I always have DH help me

Until last week, DH and I did every single bath together. Now he's doing them on his own. I can't do it by myself. When we did it together I would wash and he would hold her because the couple of times we tried reversing that she'd slip out of my hands.

Oh please Jules. J Brand can hardly count as mom jeans. I didn't know we had such a fashionista on this board in you. I like it!
Crystal-I was also going to say a plain black tee with the colored jeans. Also, your FFFC was hilarious. The fart noise reply-classic.

It is our anniversary Sunday, and my ILs are taking DD overnight on Saturday. Besides being a little apprehensive (first time being away from her overnight), I am pumped. Not really because of adult time and ultimate dusting, but to sleep in.... Yeah, I told DH I wanted to sleep in for our aniversary...
We were married on the same day! Congratulations!
My FFFC is that we are going on a week long vacation next week with both kids and I am utterly terrified. 5 hours on a plane with a 3.5 year old and 6 mo old can go terribly wrong. Then there's the time change and kids waking before 5am. I feel like I am going to need a LOT of Mai Tais to got through this. Fortunately, DH and I have planned a weekend with just the 2 of us next month to relax sand kids.

Glad I could give you and several other mamas here a laugh!! It was horrible in the moment but it's hilarious now!!
I am also too lazy to do middle of the night CIO. Kagl, that is awesome. Johnnygurl, loved the AW thread and I'm sorry people took it to extremes!
I haven't posted in awhile because we have been traveling but I've been lurking and usually have every intention of posting but then something comes up and I either forget or the moment has passed. This goes along with my confession:
Im spending the next couple of weeks at my parents house. Yesterday I was on TB catching up on posts I missed during travel days. My mom domes home from work and sees Mack's Ryan Gosling meme while I'm looking the AW baby post by johnnygurl. She asks me about it so I go to google some more of them. Well apparently the last time I googled something on my iPad it was cameltoe porn- I had every intention of adding something to the thread but got sidetracked with the baby. So my mom sees "cameltoe porn" in the google search engine and I was so embarrassed! I just kept going like it wasn't there but I know she saw it...and oh yea, my mom was a nun before she met my dad....

I fill DS's baby bathtub with water and 3 big squirts of soap (to make a bubble bath). I then dip the washcloth into the soapy water and rub it on his head and gently scrub the rest of his baby bod. I will then lift him out of the tub, dump out the water, rinse it quickly, put him back in the tub, and refill it with clean warm water. I then rinse out the wash cloth really good and soak it in the clean bath water then rub it on him to get the soap off. Not sure if it would work for you but it works great for me since I usually bathe DS by myself.

This was going to be my confession too! I bought royal blue skinny jeans yesterday and wore them last night for my birthday celebration.
To take it a step further, I am a size 10!
I am just jealous! I wish I could fit in a size 10!
Ha, me too! But I am a total fattie and I wore purple "skinny" pants out to dinner just last night. I love them and I don't give a durn what anyone thinks.

I don't think fashion trends are just for skinny minis...I am tall and muscular, and I think I look hot in my skinny jeans! You just have to pair them with the right top and shoes...and have confidence!
I watch Glee and as a result I think I have developed a bit of a complex... So I find Mark Salling (who plays Puck) to be incredibly attractive - minus the mohawk. I know that IRL he is like 30 years old but part of me still feels super gross for finding a "high school" student attractive. Irrational, yes, but I still can't help but feeling pedophilish.
If it makes you feel better, my friend dated him for a while (pre-Glee) and he's apparently very good in bed.

I am out of groceries. I am sick. I was feeling a bit better this morning and thought I would go get a few things. By the time I drove the 9 whole minutes to the grocery store I decided I was too tired and drove into the McDonald's drive thru and ordered two milks (so I had some for cereal and tea in the morning) and a couple of smoothies (for breakfast). And went home because the thought putting groceries away was horrible.

I walked by a guy at the mall the other night who was wearing Drakkar Noir. it sent me right back to high school and my first love and got me all excited I might need to track down a bottle for MH for Father's Day! i'm sure he'll be so pleased!
Yum! I know people make fun of Drakkar, but I love it and it reminds me of my first BF too.
I smoke. It is a nasty habit left over from my teenage years. I don't smoke around DS ever; I go outside because I do not want him exposed at all. I have quit several times but I always go back to it. I want to quit again for myself and DS but my fatigue, stress, physical pain and anxiety levels have been through the roof lately and it has become my vice to keep me going.
I quit cigarettes in 2010 with e-cigarettes. They are a million times better than cigarettes (no tar, no smoke, no smell, and they taste better) and they absolutely work. PM me if you'd like more info.

My BFP Chart
Becoming a better role model for my daughter, one day at a time
A few things:

Oh, I am!

Not sure if it would work for you but it works great for me since I usually bathe DS by myself.
hahahahahhah! OMG Boots that's hilarious!! I come from a pretty conservative family myself, and I know I would have died if that had happened to me. So awesome you can laugh it off though.
On another note-your siggy pic is darling! I love her dimple.
I will definitely give it a shot. Thanks!
If it makes you feel better, my friend dated him for a while (pre-Glee) and he's apparently very good in bed.
Does that make it less creepy, or more?
Yea, I'm still kind of awkward around her right now, lol. She hasn't said anything or even acted like she saw it but I'm still pretty embarrassed.
E gets those dimples from her dadda! Thanks! L is so freaking cute, I love her bonnet!
ETA: I don't know how my old sn was used...I changed it to BarefootandBoots because my whole name is on it...whoops!
Yum! I know people make fun of Drakkar, but I love it and it reminds me of my first BF too.
I bought bright yellow jeans, I wore them today and I think I looked fabulous!
I quit cigarettes in 2010 with e-cigarettes. They are a million times better than cigarettes (no tar, no smoke, no smell, and they taste better) and they absolutely work. PM me if you'd like more info.
