Parenting after 35

Has anyone read. . .

The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein?  I am looking into this as my book club selection.  Not sure if it's too sad or not.  Thoughts?

  • Does it have pictures and plenty of rhyming, one-syllable words?

Sorry, not up on any real book readin' lately.

  • We read it in my group about a year ago - very good read and discussion!

  • It's very good, definitely worth reading, and I'm not even a dog person. It's incredibly well written, IMO. It was a bit sad but not too much since the story is told through the eyes of a dog (an incredibly literate one!) and that makes the tone lighter. I wasn't depressed. I'd read it again and I can't say that about most books :)
