It's very good, definitely worth reading, and I'm not even a dog person. It's incredibly well written, IMO. It was a bit sad but not too much since the story is told through the eyes of a dog (an incredibly literate one!) and that makes the tone lighter. I wasn't depressed. I'd read it again and I can't say that about most books
