Hands down the trader joe's brand of powder detergent. Way better than the other "eco-friendly" one's we've tried. (We use white vinegar with this as our rinse detergent).

We use Method tabs; they seem to work well. I rinse dishes pretty well though.
For non-d/w, I use 7th gen soap. It does an ok job.
I just bought the method tabs this week because I had some coupons for them. But I do like them. And I don't rinse well. :P My husband does but I'm pretty lazy about it. We normally use finish tabs with the powerball. I don't know if that's phosphate free because it's not something I've been concerned about so I haven't even looked. I may stick with method because it's normally only $1 more than finish.
