My pediatrician said we could start yogurt after 6 mos and suggested Yo Baby. I bought some yesterday at the store (vanilla) and the girls loved it...so I checked the label. I didn't realize it had sugar in it. It's frickin delicious and I'm quite certain they'll never eat another green bean again once they know this is out there.
I'd rather feed them something without sugar - what do you guys use? Also anyone make their own? I've got the instructions and am kind of tempted.
Re: What kind of yogurt to you feed LO's?
Daycare is SO exhausting!

I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure all yogurt has some amount of sugar. I do believe that Yo Baby yogurt does have lessor amounts when compared to other brands. I started using Gerber yogurt because it didn't need refrigeration and I liked taking it along with me as a snack. I also used Yo Baby.
For what it is worth - Dillon loves yogurt, but that didn't stop him from eating his veggies like a champ. He loves veggies and would pass up a peice of chocolate for a carrot (too bad I can't convice my MIL of that).
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

We do the simply gogurt. 10g of sugar per serving, not bad. I liked the convenience of being able to tear off a little corner and just squeeze the tube into his mouth. At first I was really paranoid about it and used plain yogurt and flavroed it with purees..but that was a pain...and ended up not having a ton less sugar (and he often didn't like it anyways...I was just trying to use up purees since he wasn't a big fan). FWIW, he doesn't like sweet things yet. He doesn't like juice, the only cookie/sweet he will eat is mini nutter butters and the occasional animal cracker, and once in a while, he will eat a few fruit snacks. his snack of choice right now is mixed nuts
At that age, it was plain, whole milk, organic yogurt. They do not all have sugar. Babies don't know the difference between sugar and no sugar, so they'll probably like the plain just fine!
We still do plain and organic, but low-fat and we add fruits and sometimes honey.
LO #1 - 1 unmedicated/self-monitored IUI w/ donor sperm.
LO #2 - 1 m/c, 2 BFNs, 4th IUI worked (unmedicated/self-monitored with new donor sperm).
Life is beautiful!
Stoneyfield full fat plain yogurt. I find it infuriating that they add sugar to everything else. And it isn't just the sugar that's in the fruit/vegetables - they add additional sugar.
I broke down a few weeks ago and got yobaby when I couldn't find the plain. He got a terrible diaper rash that would not go away. Apparently the sweetened yogurts also have a higher acid content. NEVER AGAIN.
This is what we did for DD...until she was a little over a year old and wouldn't eat it any more. then we moved on to the Chobani Champions for both DS and DD. When DS was a baby, he would eat YoBaby 3 in 1 meals, since they had fruid and veggies in them. We moved on to Chobani since there is so much more protein, and neither child is a big fan of meat (or anything else with protein really).
