Just got the official ok from our pedi to give DS all almond milk. I am running low on donor milk and am only pumping 4-8oz a day, so I needed to know if we need to go to formula or if solely almond milk was ok. They said to give him no more than 16-20oz a day...DS currently drinks about 30oz a day and they said to offer more food and replace the other amount with water...He still takes a bottle every 3 hours, except at night. So how many oz does your LO drink each day?
Re: How many oz's a day?
He's started going back to drinking more formula lately. On average he gets 28-31oz. of formula a day (over the course of 4-5 bottles) and he eats about 10-12 oz. of purees a day, and snacks on table foods or puffs 1-2x a day, which I can't measure.
I feel like he eats a lot, but I really have no idea!
ETA: I should also point out that I'm horrible about giving him water. Oops.
This post makes me worry a little seeing all of your LOs drinking 24-30 per day. I don't know exactly how much total, but DS normally drinks 10 ounces of formula at day care and nurses two to three times a day. I worry that he isn't getting enough, but he refuses to drink more than that.
He also has about 5-8 ounces of water a day.
I don't think my son tops 20 oz.
Two 7oz bottles a day (morning and evening bottle) and two 6 oz. bottles (mid morn. and afternoon) so that's 26oz. This is on top of about 6oz of water and his 3 meals of purees and/or table foods.
